Growing? I think the exact opposite

I know MD, you have historically been negative on this board but you've grown on me. The facts about Carey are just that. He has won MACC, big games, and has made mistakes as well. He is in fact growing and will do a good job at Temple. They are getting an honest man, works hard, and will win more than he losses. Carey is not failing, his contract, bank account, and win/loss record says otherwise. I am very excited to see what's instore for NIU Football in the coming year.

I grant you that the MAC championship appearances cloud things a little bit. The mistakes are just too overwhelming and repeated to look past though. Im not actively rooting for him to fail at Temple, but I just think he is in la la land if he thinks NIU was some tough place to coach and that he deserves sympathy because some fans had standards for him. If anything, Temple fans will be even more critical than NIU. The MAC championship appearances are a plus for him, but a big big negative is the state he is leaving NIU football in right now. Its going to take awhile to get this program back on track, and NIU football will be in rebuilding mode for at least a few years.

Milehigh you do have to admit though, isn't it sort of comical how everyone on this board is also preaching how the MAC is a crap conference and worst in the nation, and then they lift Carey up as Papa Bear Halas himself for winning the conference. You just can't make this stuff up sometimes.
I see it, and sometimes that's me. I don't like the MAC, I loved it. NIU is ready for a new conference, and new challenges. MAC is fun and I love being the underdog on the bigger stages, but I believe NIU can take the next step, toward Boiseville!
I think our program will not skip a beat if Canada comes, he's been here before and can ball. If T-Ham comes or others we will rebuild in two years, but see us winning 7+ games with all the above right off the bat, but Canada feels like a 9 win season out of the gate. Hope I'm right.
