Never said he would be leaving to the NFL, he has an active MLB contract with the A's but there is a good chance he could play minor league ball in the spring and summer and report to OU in the fall. And I think he could play QB in the NFL

He'll play baseball unless he wants to change positions in the NFL.

Not a QB

As a passer, thinking no.

Sure he can run. But unless we are willing to let him be a 1 read qb then scramble, what's the point?

That isn't the offense.

Agree 100%. Only reason to bring in Hurts is for the storyline.

Seriously? Memphis needs a mobile QB. Hurts would be an incredible step up from White. He’s not coming here anyway, but he’d be an big time player here.

How do you think we need a mobile QB?! I think your statement of incredible step up would ONLY apply to mobility.
I think that unless he goes to OK, his flaws will be exposed with his next team. Hopefully he has improved drastically from his first two seasons, but I haven't seen it. It's easy to look good when you out-talent your opponent at every position 90% of the time.

The Tiger offense does not depend on a mobile QB. Would it be nice to have a mobile QB? YES. We haven't had a mobile QB since we started winning. Lynch had some mobility. The Tiger offense needs an accurate passer, that is job one. But I am pretty sure MN and staff could figure out a way to use Hurts if we were lucky enough to get him.

04-cheers Agree on all accounts. Also believe his offense would be easier to configure around an intelligent, skilled passer with arm strength.

To be fair: We didn't just describe Jalen Hurts. We just described Justin Herbert QB Oregon and everyone could benefit from having that kid. Even the Bengals.....or as I say the Bungals. Any QB we have will have deficiencies. Hurts would be great choice. I think he's rather mobility be his deficiency.....purely speculation.

I mean Russel Wilson and Drew Brees are close to that height. If you got skill then you can play.

Why would he change positions? Have you seen him play? He can throw pretty well. Did a good job against Bama and carried a bad Oklahoma defense team to the playoffs.

Russell Wilson is 5'11" and Drew Brees is 6'00", how's one or two less inches going to hurt his chances compared to these highly thought of QBs?

Most mocks have him going in the top 10 now (as a quarterback). The guy's athleticism and skill will make a lot of scouts and GMs forget about his height

You think if he went to any team outside of the top 4 (Memphis, Houston, UCF and Cincy) he would destroy this conference?

Hurts would make Memphis more one dimensional than they were last season. Most teams could pack 8 in the box against us all game.
King at Houston would likely keep his starting job if he transferred to Houston. The only reason I think he wouldn't is they have a new coaching staff.

Again, based on what?

He played for dominant teams and was a passable quarterback at best.

He could scramble. Cool.

It'll be interesting to see where he goes but like most P5 Grad transfers i don't expect him to make a huge impact.

Do you want the Baltimore Ravens offense or the Rams offense?
