RE: Game Day: Kent State
Our starters shot 73% from the floor and hit 12/17 from 3.

That has to be our best offensive performance against a MAC team under Murphy. Both aesthetically and on the stat sheet. Just completely dominant.

That was not the team that I have watched past 2 months. You shoot that well from the field and from 3 and play that type of defense, man there isn't many teams that will stop you. I am kinda speechless.

Per EMU Hoops on Twitter: "Eagles dominate KSU, led by one of the most efficient offensive performances in program HISTORY. 4th-best field goal % ever recorded by EMU (65.4 percent)
3rd-best three-point field goal % in school history (63.2 percent)"

Dear Friends,
Being at the game, it was just unbelievable how Eastern pulled away in the second half. Ellison with great passes, Minnie with hitting those threes, great boards by Minnie, Thompson, and Toure. They really played a great game. Oh, and making free throws.

Is this team 'schizophrenic'?

Let's see: We set an EMU record for least points in a half earlier this season and today had one of the best offensive performances in school history.

A math teacher wouldn't expect a student to score 62% on one test and then come back later and score 95% (without cheating).

It makes no sense purely from a statistical or probability sense.

I've seen a few kick-out passes from the post. They really need to continue that.

In offense this is the difference if you go back to the Buffalo game one of the CBS analysts suggested this would work for EMU with Minnie at the arc or one of the guards Macdoo has been shooting the lights the past two games. Even one seems to key JT4 inside. What I can't explain is the improvement in defense the past two games any ideas?

Murphys teams always look good'-on paper His teams in my opinion have been consistently the most physically talented in the MAC but in the end don't live up to their paper or physical potential. Why?

Yeah, we are 8 - 8 with only a few good wins. With 15 games left looks like 15, 16 or 17 wins, including the non-D-Is.

I'd guess we have to win the MAC tourney to play post season. Outside chance maybe 12 - 6 conference might get us a bid, though.

The 4 points EMU scored in the first half of the Rutgers game didn't just set an EMU record, it tied the record for fewest points scored in NCAA history, an embarrassment that will forever be attached to the school.

Computer ranking wise, this is the MACs best year as a conference since the late 90s. Sagarins has them as number 20 ahead of A10 and MVC nut begins West Coast and Mountain West. I guess it makes sense as the top teams from last year all returned most players. But even the middlings seem to be competing well.

Bye, EMU is second or third last in the conference. Very disappointing year. Though should improve again after another impressive win today.

EDIT: I meant top 10 conference. Sorry for the typo.

Here are the Sagarins through FRIDAY. We played the 6th most difficult D-I schedule.

Ramy is right. The MAC West is #10 conference. Very impressive.

With 1/6th of the MAC schedule completed, we are tied for 4th place and a bye.

Can conference success be spelled M-I-N-N-I-E?

https://getsomemaction.com/stats.aspx?pa...&conf=true

For those who remember his performance in the OOC schedule: many games with ZERO treys. Zero for 7 vs. UDM.

RE: Game Day: Kent State
I think it was the all-around improvement of the offense yesterday. Minnie could’ve missed every shot he took and we still would’ve won comfortably. Usually we go as Minnie goes, but it’s great to see the rest of our talent properly utilized. If this becomes a theme, rather than one great game, then I really think we can make some noise in the conference.

The MAC West is there for the taking, but we need to consistently bring it like that every night. Obviously, we won’t stay that hot from 3 all season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep getting good shots with proper ball movement and positioning. Yesterday was a good step.
