RE: Texas A&M schedule next year
No different than South Carolina's
Alabama
@UGA
UF
@A&M
Clemson
In addition to UNC, @UT, @Missouri, and others.
I'm sure there will still be threads from mostly Big Ten fans bemoaning the fact that SEC schools schedule an FCS game though.

Only FCS games in late October or November are bothersome. Schedule in September, fine.

There's no difference.

ok lets cancel out the dupes. Alabama, Georgia, Clemson. And each other.
A&M still has Auburn, Miss St, and LSU
South Carolina has Florida and ???
I'd say that's a pretty big difference.

I'd say that's a pretty big difference.
- A second P5 non-conference opponent at a neutral site (which A&M doesn't have)
- Auburn finished unranked and lost to UT at home, so I think those are comparable
- SC plays UK (which finished top 15) and Missouri (won 8 games) too
- For good measure SC plays App State which won the Sun Belt and spent a week or two in the top 25
If ESPNs top 25 for next year is any indicator, SC plays 5 of the top 10

Only a Texas fan would say a schedule of 4 top 10 teams isn't brutal. With 3 of those 4 games on the road....

RE: Texas A&M schedule next year
This article says the most difficult 2019 schedule is Stanford's, followed by South Carolina. From 1 to 10:
Stanford
South Carolina
USC
Auburn
Michigan
Texas A&M
Maryland
Florida
UCLA
Duke

And A&M plays THE top 4 teams in CBS's top 25. The only reason why South Carolina has more ranked games is A&M is ranked. South Carolina isn't. A&M has to play at Clemson, Georgia, and LSU- so 3 of the 5 games to include USC away. USC gets 3 of the 5 games at home.
They are close.
Color me unimpressed playing UNC neutral site. Big Deal...

The B1G doesn't need to schedule FCS teams after September. They already have enough cupcakes within the conference to take care of the needs of the few.

OMG- did you see the Stanford schedule?
ooc games with Northwestern, UCF, and Notre Dame
other division games with USC, UCLA, Arizona, and Colorado
they have 6 early ESPN top 25 games. All 3 OOC games in top 25. Their 1st 6 games- 4 top 25 teams and @ USC in a game that's never easy.

All these lists are BS at this point anyway.
The difference is negligible and according to at least some, SC's is arguably more difficult than A&Ms.
Stanfords is crazy difficult too because I think they play 11 P5 games plus @UCF

Stanford scheduling all OOC games with top 25 teams is ballsy. That’ll be fun to watch.

I see five almost sure wins.
I see four probable losses.
Anywhere from 5-7 to 8-4 is perfectly reasonable with that slate. Tough draw but it’s also early so the teams in each category may be very differently perceived at the end of the year.

RE: Texas A&M schedule next year
South Carolina has the same number of likely wins and probable loss games but their probable wins aren’t nearly as easy.
Lamar Vs Charleston Southern is a push
UNC vs UTSA isn’t close
App State vs Texas St was 38-7 this year. Not close and App almost beat PSU
Ole Miss and Tennessee is a push
Vandy was tougher than Arkansas this year and won by 14. At worst it’s a push but Vandy probably holds the edge now if Vaughn and Pinkney come back.
So I’d give SC a slightly tougher slate due to fewer gimmes

it's 4 road games and then the Arkansas game is a neutral site at Jerry World.

There's no difference.
Actually there is a difference playing FCS teams later because of the scholarship difference. As injuries add up during the season, FCS teams just don't have the depth to replace their starters like P5 teams have. So it is better for FCS tems to play a P5 team early in the season.
