Yes, we had all predicted that LSU, Georgia, and Florida would be very close, because they all had the same losses but there was a 3-way H2H issue where A beat B who beat C who beat A.

So no use arguing about the final results as they were indeed close. Sounds like a peeved Georgia fan.

No, just a few people who value a bowl game over the whole season and come up with nonsensical results. But you aren't any different from most pollsters. And not terribly different from the CFP which seems to have even more of a recency bias. Its why we need to get away from a system so dependent on individual opinions.

Its not the first time the polls have nonsensical results. Its pretty common and didn't surprise me at all.

LSU, UGA, and UF obviously had very similar seasons so the only nonsensical result would be if there was a big disparity among them. As long as you have them close doesn"t mattet what order they are in. The AP result is defensible.

But it's not just Georgia vs Florida for the billionth time. LSU is in there and Florida beat them and Georgia got killed by them. That changes the math, no matter how much you dislike that fact....

Also I would hardly call a win by 26 points as a close win..... Florida absolutely boat raced Michigan, and you damn well know it.

No, it's a peeved Texas fan who wants to stick out his chest and say we beat the #5 team in the country....

Now that comment is even more idiotic than the polls. UGA and Florida are tied for #7. So either Texas beat #7 or beat a team tied for #7. I haven't argued LSU being ranked ahead of Georgia. I think Georgia is a better team, but that one is very close and LSU won decisively.

If you watched these teams a lot, Georgia and LSU are both much more talented than Florida. Neither Georgia nor LSU got manhandled by a Kentucky or Missouri.

And I stated on this board before the bowls that I thought Florida and Michigan were the two most overrated teams in the country. Probably said it more than once.

CUSA picked the SBC schools who spent the most on athletics, but did not pick the best football programs at the time. They probably would have taken ULL, Troy and Arkansas St. instead of 3 of the ones they did take (UNT, MTSU, WKU, FIU, FAU) if they were doing that. UNCC, ODU and UTSA were gambles too. The new SBC schools have built up pretty fast. It takes 5 years to roll in a class recruited solely for FBS and that's about how long it took to catch up.

I wouldn't say I expected it, but it is understandable.

MTSU, WKU, ODU and UTSA were good right out of the starting gates in C-USA.
FIU and FAU were 2017 great teams and North Texas 2018. Charlotte are becoming get their act together. They started out unbeaten and fell off in 2018.

UTSA last year lost close games, and ODU got a P5 scalp. I would not say all the schools in C-USA are really terrible except for Charlotte. Starting off in the year against P5 could kill your momentum from last year.
