Alabama-Clemson
I'm going with Clemson 41-38.

My spouse is telling me how ALL the Georgia fans are rooting for Alabama. Reminder of things lost with expansion.

UGA-Clemson was a huge rivalry in the 80s, on a par with UGA-Florida, UGA-GT, UGA-Auburn. Since the SEC expanded to 12, they rarely play. They have played 64 times and played all but 2 years from 62-87, again in 90-91 and 94-95, but only 4 times since then.

I try not to pick these kinds of games. But I will say this is the best put together Alabama team in my lifetime. I'm not sure Clemson is as deep. The 4th quarter will be pivotal.

I'm sure - Clemson is NOT as deep. At this rate it may not matter though.

Well after the turnovers and with Alabama getting the ball to start the 2nd half they are going to need to pick up a turnover of their own and get to Lawrence if they are going to give themselves a chance. We'll see if they can make adjustments. If not they are going to get whipped. Talent is pretty even. So far Alabama has been out coached. The pick six was just great film work to spot a coverage position that would give them a break on the ball on that play.

My gut told me Clemson would win tonight although I thought it would be close.

Too many screw ups on offense, couldn't stop 'em on defense.

Congrats to Dabo and Clemson.

The pick six didn't really hurt that much. The overthrow interception did. And the false start at the 2 did. And then the hammy your cornerback got that allowed the long 3rd down touchdown was the coup de grace. After that Alabama made a series of desperate decisions that only made the outcome worse. It didn't help that the Big 10 crew on two third downs in the red zone let interference go uncalled. But clearly Clemson made no mistakes and was the better team.

The Clemson O line was dominant in pass protection. They couldn't run, but the QB had as long as wanted. And I think every starter for Alabama in the secondary was new. They just gave him too much time.

And Dabo outcoached Saban. They had a lot better play calling.

A few bounces Clemson's way (along with a rare Saban miss on Ross, Alabama HS player of the year last year who signed with Clemson,-did he have superglue on his hand????) turned it into a rout.

RE: Alabama-Clemson
I honestly thought Alabama would win. They typically start fast and force opponents to alter their game plan. Clemson typically starts slow and lets teams hang around. The reality is that the opposite happened.
