And he nearly missed the first. It was a worse kick, just straight. He nearly missed the easy FG too.

RE: CFP National Championship Game: Clemson vs Alabama
I noticed Alabama seemed to be more fired up than usual when they ran into the stadium. I told my wife I didn't know if that was good or bad, but it was different.

I think its clear. It was bad. Alabama has been winning big this year and they have massive talent, but they are a young team. Their D just is not as good as last year. I never got this "best Alabama team of all time" business.

Sabin has plenty of time to settle them down, but unusual for him, he didn't have them focused on their assignments.

31 points in the first half. These SEC teams just don't know how to play defense.04-cheers

Well 2 turnovers is one thing. But the Tide D hasn't gotten to Lawrence. They are going to have to do that if they are going to make a comeback. They start with the ball in the second half so they are going to need a Clemson turnover somewhere along the way. The Clemson staff has out-coached the Alabama staff so far. The first interception was great film work to find a jump on the ball.

Alabama's giving up less than 3 yards a carry. Passing % barely over 50% they're giving up.

But the 1st half their D did give up 24pts:
o Clemson with ball first
o Pick to bring it to mid-field (3pts)

Alabama has better pass %, and more yards. Getting the ball first 1st half, if they can make adjustments like they did against Georgia, we'll have a tight ball game.

Tua did poorly the only time Alabama was behind this year. He hasn't had enough tough games. They may need to bring in the backup again as they did vs. UGA.

Personally, I think Alabama should have been running more. Except on obvious (3rd & 1 type) downs, they have had big yardage running.

RE: CFP National Championship Game: Clemson vs Alabama
Interesting that the SEC has not played the Pac this year.
They are 1-3 vs. Big 12 and gave up 45, 34, 38 and 28.
They are 3-1 vs. Big 10 and gave up 14, 15, 24 and 27.
They are 1-0 vs. AAC and gave up 32.
They are 1-1 so far vs. ACC and gave up 28 and 13, but 31 in the 1st half tonight.

Really, the offenses are ahead of the defenses and if you play a spread team with good skill players and a good QB, you can only slow them down, not stop them.

Agree. Clemson spent most of their preparation learning how to defend Alabama passing routes and how to disguise their coverage. Alabama has gashed them on the ground when a run wasn't obvious. Hurts can throw, but he gives them even more of a threat on the ground in with the RPO. BTW: Told my wife that after the first Qtr. The issue isn't Tua reads. The issue is Clemson has gone to school on film and have found ways to jump routes. The overthrow was the only gift so far. The pick six they earned in the film room.

Looks like Clemson's bending them over! They're holding back on the lube, now!

Saban near half was the first time he’s ever had that faraway, lost look.

Now the biggest deficit in his 12-year Alabama career.

Well when your corner goes down with a hammy to let the receiver loose it's not your night.

With Tua and Lawrence NFL ineligible, we’ll see Alabama-Clemson Part V next year. This could end up an old-fashioned best-of-7.

SEC still the best conference but this was not a good bowl season for them.

I'm sure Bama will come back in the 4th and win late.

Hope I'm wrong
