RE: Chandler Parsons BOH
Best for both sides if Chandler can play in a backup stretch 4 role and average what he did at the beginning of last season. 20 minutes pg, 42% from three, 8 point pg. At least that has some value around the league. Everyone wants 3 point shooting.

The goal is to move him or cut him this summer. If he can stay healthy and show some production, he can be traded. Then we don't have to cut him and eat the last year of his contract. The key is how many assets we have to attach in a trade, or how much bad contract we have to take back.

Like Charlotte and Biyombo. He sucks, averages 4 point pg and 5 rebounds pg. Makes $17M per year. We take their crap guy and they take ours. More likely we take an overpaid player who still has two years left, since Chandler makes $25M next season.

After no deadline trade, Grizzlies and Chandler Parsons have agreed on plan for Parsons to rejoin the team after the All-Star break and return to the lineup, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Grizz are a laughing stock. Outsmarted on every hand. By other GM’s, players, agents....it really is embarrassing that this is the franchise Memphis is stuck with. Pera really needs to sell his shares in the team.

I think Parsons will play and audition for a new team and contract.

What a deadbeat he has been here.

It'll be interesting to see what he does.

That is the one and only reason he is trying to play now. He wants a new contract and new team. I wouldn't play the guy 1 single minute. If the NBA tries to push it, then it is time to call in the lawyers and find out exactly how the NBA can choose your roster and who you play. That opens too many doors. At what point do they tell the small market team they can't have a player or they can't play a player because that interferes with the Lakers winning which is best for the NBA...

Just play him if he helps convey the pick great awesome. If he plays 3 games and is done. Ok then who cares.

It's not hurting one bit to have him back and playing.

Chandler will be on the bench soon because the trade deadline is over, and the Grizz front office has no more reasons not to have him on the bench. He has been medically cleared since December and he wants to play. The Grizz FO was pretty supportive of Chandler the first two years, but now there is mutual contempt. FO is tired of Chandler and his camp leaking constantly to Shams. Herrington said Shams had the story of Chandler returning to the bench post All-Star break 5 minutes after the agreement was made, before the Grizz could even release a statement.

Whether he plays or not is really up to JB. JB and Chandler are buddies, but JB knows the politics. JB started Chandler at SF to start the year, but even JB knows JB can't guard wings anymore. JMyke's trade and Omri's injury open up some minutes at the 4. But Ivan will go out of the starting lineup soon, so he should be the 1st 4 off the bench. Still, Chandler can shoot. Could see him getting some stretch 4 minutes.

I have heard it said many times by many different people that it was Chandler who has been leaking all the behind the scenes things (like the locker room fight) and most of the team and management are done with him. Might be good that there was such a turnover since the new players won't know what a worm he is.

What development? JB has no idea what he's doing so developing young players isn't happening until they get a competent coach.

Also if he can help convey the pick then it's not a waste. Honestly he can't hurt or make the team worse in any way.

I mean they just lost to the Bull by 12.

JB stinks
Regardless, playing time is necessary for developing players. Parsons' playing will take away mins from a Rabb, Caboclo, etc
