This year maybe but in past years this would have possibly helped MTSU or WKU. It may not as the committee simply does not give a damn about non-power teams but you can't look at it as a one year thing. I don't have a problem with it.

Pumping up the conference RPI before conference play is the only way to have an outside shot of getting multiple teams.

That or 1 team goes all Memphis (the university, not UAB fan) on everyone else and maintains a high RPI throughout the season up until the conference tournament.

Exactly. MTSU had a 33 RPI last year at selection time. Now, they should have been in anyway, but had the pod system been in place, at season's end MTSU would have played Old Dominion at 77 RPI and UTSA at 174 RPI instead of UAB at 144 RPI and La Tech at 183 RPI. This might have helped their RPI be high enough to where they would have been selected. I'm okay with trying to see. Like Attalla said, it likely won't matter this year but could help in the future.

Agree with The Blazerman & Memphis Blazer. This is just the weakest Commissioner in the G5 rearranging the living room, with the same furniture, in an attempt to add seats. And then self assessing the effort as a positive outcome.

We've gotta get out of this craptastic conference. But still, this conference could be much better with better leadership.

MTSU was excluded because of bias against non power conferences. They had every reason to be included based on what they did.Had the pod system been in place, their RPI might have been higher and they still would have been excluded.

RE: FIU
Yep. No amount of RPI POD boosting conference play would have gotten MTSU in last year.

RE: FIU
Back to UAB, I've been pleased with the last two home games. The team is playing hard and trending in the right direction. Definitely improved since the poor showing in Disney. Gueye is really starting to blossom and is fun to watch. It'll be interesting to see if they can transport the energy and improved shooting on this week's road trip. I'll be pleased if we go 1-1.

You have to take away the excuses. That’s what they are trying to do.

Any highlight footage of this game? I can't find any. It was a fun one, so would like to relive a bit.
