ODU vs WKU
Put up or shut up time!

Yep. Critical game early. If we lose this one, our chances at Dancing this year become greatly diminished.

I disagree. Our chances are only severely diminished if we fall out of the first pod near the end of conference and don't end up with a top 4 finish...a loss won't help with confidence or morale though.
I'm hoping last nights game was just some rust with the long layoff, BJ not being 100% (even though he was good last night) and learning that Godwin is done for the season.

Lose this one it's time to start worrying that we won't even make it into the top 4 pod for the end of regular season group of games.

If we lose this one, then:
1.) Our slim chances at an at-large bid are toast.
2.) If we can't beat WKU and Marshall at home, we're not winning the CUSA Tournament.

Why, its what Jeff does year in and year out against our top competition in CUSA.
My brother in law actually bought me tickets to this game for Christmas so I will be there come Saturday at 7. Really not too excited because if we play the same garbage basketball we did last night against an even better team, I'll be leaving the Ted in a **** mood.
The Syracuse win was not an accident. Jeff switched his defenses up, we played smart and didnt force shots. We actually looked like we had really efficient offensive sets too. Why the hell he reverted to his lame duck coaching tendencies is beyond me.

Hard to disagree with this. We have these top teams early and at home. Thats in our favor. Just have to take advantage and win.

RE: ODU vs WKU
I am worried we may be in for a long conference season. VCU and Syracuse went cold and neither are looking like they are going to be huge wins at the end of the season. We struggled way more than we should have against Richmond and Morgan State was in that game into the 2nd half. Our losses come from #111, #95, #223, and #133. While we finally got over the hump and won a couple or the bigger games that have eluded us, we are also losing games we have no business losing.

RE: ODU vs WKU
Saturday 7:00 at the Ted: Western Kentucky (8-6). Stadium stream.
Results to date: Washington (55-73); Tenn-Martin (86-71); Valparaiso (83-71); W Va (63-57); UCF (62-78); Indiana St (54-63); Tenn St (88-74); Missouri St (78-84); Arkansas (78-77); Troy (81-87); Belmont (74-80); St Mary’s (71-68); Wisconsin (83-76); Charlotte (68-50).
Last game: WKU started slowly, trailing 17-15, before getting into high gear to lead 34-25 at HT and led by as many as 25 in the second half in the rout as the Hilltoppers shot 50% FG with 12 made 3s. Ten players played, none more than 29 mins, led by Jared Savage with 13, Jake Ohmer 12 off the bench, Charles Bassey 11 and Delano Banton 10.
Stats: 73.1 pts (vs 72.1); .462 FG (.362 3s); .729 FT; +3.6 RB; A/TO= 0.86
Starters (Charlotte)
C Charles Bassey (6-11 245 Fr). 29.4 min.; .643 FG (5-9 3s); .750 FT; 8.8 RB; 2.5 blocks; 14.3 pts
G Josh Anderson (6-6 195 So). 25.6 min.; .510 FG (4-9 3s); .654 FT; 3.0 RB; 1.5 steals; 8.8 pts
G Jared Savage (6-5 200 Jr). 36.4 min.; .404 FG (35-86 3s); .898 FT; 4.1 RB; 14.6 pts
G Taveion Hollingsworth (6-2 165 So). 36.2 min.; .437 FG (19-60 3s); 5.1 RB; 2.9 assists; 1.5 steals; 15.3 pts
G Dalano Banton (6-8 195 Fr). 19.8 min.; .410 FG (6-23 3s); .611 FT; 3.8 RB; 2.9 assists; 3.6 pts
Bench
F Tolu Smith (6-10 240 Fr). 10.7 min.; .571 FG; .526 FT; 2.1 RB; 3.0 pts
G Jake Ohmer (6-1 180 So). 13.8 min.; .278 FG (5-12 3s); 1.9 pts (8 games)
G Jeremiah Gambrell (6-3 170 Sr). 7.0 min.; .167 FG (1-6 3s); 1.0 pts
F Moustapha Diagne (6-9 230 Jr). 7.5 min.; .250 FG (1-4 3s); 1.0 RB; 1.5 pts (2 games)
Jeckyl-Hyde season, beating some very good teams (W Va and Wisconsin ranked at time of game). Chemistry, injuries and player issues limited the Hilltoppers in OOC. WKU has played much better as frosh Dalano Banton took over PG (WKU has tried 5 PGs this season). Charles Bassey is a true one-and-done talent and can dominate the paint (note he can shoot 3s and FTs as well). WKU adept at getting to the FT line (21.9 FT attempts/g) and have made 1 fewer FT than their opponents have attempted.

I didn't really believe we had an at-large change. Lost it in the VI (my opinion)...I probably agree with point 2. Losing on Saturday really wouldn't make me think otherwise.

We never were. Ever. Syracuse wasn’t a top 25 team, that was a joke.

I'll be there rooting on our team. Hope the atmosphere isn't too diminished from last night's loss.

Through thick and thin. And it was historically thick during the eight game win streak. It was unpleasant to witness the turd’s three fall last night, but it doesn’t touch how sweet it felt to watch BJ put the dagger in vcu at the end of the game a few weeks ago. I will cherish that memory for years.
