The Koran is nothing like the Bible. In the Koran, you are an eternal slave to Allah and commanded to murder all infidels and conqueror the world through war, rape, murder and genocide.

In God Word's, you are commanded to love your enemy as yourself, spread the Gospel and wait on Christ's return. Those who find salvation through Christ are granted eternal life as SONS of God and life as eternal, incorruptible Gods.

Those things are on dramatically opposite ends of the spectrum and about and different as it gets.

I used to say the same thing for many years.

I've come to realize its not religion in general that makes people uncomfortable, its talking about Jesus and the Bible that makes people uncomfortable.

If its a thread on Buddhism, Islam or some new age religion, no one gets uncomfortable. If Jesus and the Bible are the topic, people clam up and run for the hills.

Explanation; Jefferson printed many copies of the koran (it is said the koran was the most printed book in America during his presidency) in hopes that Americans would read it to understand what we were fighting.
As far as this muslim swearing on the koran, it is incumbent on all Americans to understand the difference between the two. The Bible’s 10 commandments from God include not bearing false witness. The koran on the other hand teaches to lie to and deceive the infidel. If you are not aware, we are the infidel. So her swearing anything on the koran is a deliberate poke in the eye to all of us who love America. To use Jefferson’s copy is absolutely heretical.

I’m with JR on this. Our educational system has let us down. I do not believe JD was trolling but rather just ignorant of history. With this being the state of our existence today, I believe we may not exist much longer.

Everyone should read this book

Excellent book. I was looking for it earlier in the week and couldn't find it. I've used it often as a reference to debunk some of the myths my liberal friends like to perpetuate.

The difference is quite obvious. Christians don't follow those passages in the Old Testament now. The new Testament is the predominate guide to Christian life. Christianity moved away from the violent rhetoric and embraced the love and compassion of the New Testament.

No so much with Islam. It has its own version of old and new testaments. Unfortunately the violent testament is still followed by a huge segment of Muslims. Islam is still stuck in its violent past. Christianity has moved on from it.

Anyone with the capability of critical thought and rationality agrees with this.
