ACC Network on-air "talent"
So who are the voices and faces that should be on the ACC network? The SEC network found success with Finebaum by taking a fairly local guy some loved and some hated but everyone watched and turned into a national personality.

Who are the guys you think should be hosting shows and infotaining the ACC brand?

A few guys that come to my mind are

Danny Kannel (FSU QB and Finebaum arch enemy)

Mark Paker (ACC media Royalty and Clemson grad)

Roy Philpot (Clemson grad with insanely popular local radio show Greenville SC until moving up the ESPN ranks calling football and basketball games)

Dave Glenn (Long ACC history with broad ACC ties centrally located in NC with syndication in VA and SC also)

As far as other shows/hosts/ reporting...

Jonathan Vilma (Miami guy who is already on ESPN but i personally can't stand the guy)

Chris Cotter (GT guy already on ESPN)

Molly McGrath (BC grad already on ESPN)

I'm sure there are tons of Syracuse media members that I've just never heard of or never known they are Cuse grads. I can't think of any ND, Louisville or PITT people.

What say you?

Main play by play on TV: Wes Durham
Main sideline on TV: Roddy Jones

Jenn Hildreth would work for studio/sideline as well.

Hire Katie George. Louisville graduate, Volleyball player, former Miss Kentucky, former sports journalists for WDRB in Louisville, and current sideline reporter for the Milwaukee Bucks. 03-wink

Some kinda way I'd like to see the ACCN work Paul Johnson into the studio... his snarky remarks would keep people entertained when there's no game on.

If you have PJ on and Beamer dares to say something about cut blocks you'll get a half hour block of uninterrupted content.

Hoops:

I’d like to see Len Elmore. Technically he played in the ACC.

Thank god Billy Packer is retired.

I bet Cory Alexander is one.

LaPhonso Ellis?

Julian Whigham, former Syracuse Football player who retired a year early. He has been going to Newhouse and has crafted his writing and analyst skills the last two years. He is a breath of fresh air who really dives into the x's and o's. He is versed in pro and Air Raid spread offenses. As a DB he is also good on that side of the ball.

Len Elmore? Good Lord, Duke fans and others would be STRONGLY opposed to that Terps loyalist. He was the complete fanboy when broadcasting Maryland games. I know that Maryland is no longer in the conference but I haven’t forgotten.

I don’t understand why no one has mentioned the obvious — Jay Bilas, Jay Williams and Seth Greenberg.

I’ll mention another name that most of you have never heard of — Dave Harding. He’s a former Duke football player who’s now doing broadcasting on the Duke network. He’s very good and he’s an analyst, not a fan. I’m surprised he hasn’t already been scooped up by ESPN. You’re gonna like him even if you’re a Tar Heel fan.

I didn't mention those 3 guys along with Sean McDonough because they are already part of ESPN nationally. Moving to the ACC network full time would be a step-down. I tried to mention people that would be moving up or at least laterally. All great choices though if they'd consider it. I"m sure those 3 will be making many many appearances on the network in the future.

Since the ACC network will be run out of Bristol I’m not expecting it to have its own exclusive staff.

Please, please, please... NO DAVID GLENN!

He has a 3 hour radio show here in the Triangle. If you take out the ads, him talking about what he is going to talk about, and his insane ability to drag out a topic with useless and unrelated chatter, you get 8-10 minutes of legitimate talk.
