Cool. I actually like our rivalry with VA Tech, but hope we play in a better bowl next year.

Va Tech was in the old Metro Conference, so there is some history between us.

The Metro Conf. did not sponsor football. We were both football independents at the time. However, we have played them now 12 time all-time (series tied at 6-6). First meeting was in the 1947 Sun Bowl.

Sometimes I feel like they keep the "new" P5 teams in line (you're not a blue blood yet, UC, just because you are in the Big East) by having them play G5 teams in bowl games. I imagine the stats do not back up the impression, but it feels that way.

I watched the 4th qtr again yesterday. It great football.

I would love to do a home-and-home basketball/football series with VT like we did with UCLA.

I'm guessing the cheez-it bowl was #1???

I'm frankly sick of playing them in football. Would rather set up something with another ACC school, like Lousyville.

Virginia Tech is tied up OOC through 2031. They are playing a bunch of games with in-state Old Dominion and Liberty throughout the next decade, as well as P5 opponents. If history is any indication, we'll be playing them again in a bowl game sooner than later anyway.

Didn't we do a home & home with them before which ended with us playing our home game at FEDEX field in DC for a few million $$

So UC was the only non P5 school to take down a P5 opponent.
