Round of 32 (16 bowls)-Third weekend in December
Sweet 16 (8 bowls)-Xmas weekend
Elite 8 (4 bowls)-NYD weekend
Final Four (2 bowls)-Second weekend in January
National Championship-Third weekend in January

Pare down the bowl season to 30 bowl games with each conference picking up a first round bowl and 20 at-larges.

It could be done.

With travel expense, no one would attend.

Local support because its a playoff game.

I say only allow the top 32 teams to participate. The two lowest rated teams each year are demoted and replaced by two highest up and comers. Now we are cooking. So if Vanderbilt and Duke goes 6 and 18 for two years, demoted to the work back up group.
