I couldn't find any either. If there are any, I doubt they are elite athletic or academic institutions. Not surprisingly considering he was a college football and high school wrestling star, Fickell's kids play sports and are probably pretty good at them. I doubt he's going to want to send his kids to a tiny high school with no decent athletic competition.

As for reasons Fickell would stay?

He's a native Ohioan who hand-selected Cincinnati as a destination for his wife Amy, and their six children. Fickell played at Columbus DeSales and the family sought out the area's Catholic community. Oldest son Landon plays football for the Moeller Crusaders under former UC offensive lineman and Director of Player Development Doug Rosfeld.

The staff also has local ties with quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli from Fort Thomas, Kentucky, plus another former Bearcat, Mike Mickens is on staff. Defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman also has a large family that would be difficult to uproot and defensive line coach Steve Stripling and receivers coach Joker Phillips returned to Cincinnati.

Fickell has continually stressed recruiting the "state of Cincinnati" and the current staff has made great inroads in that area. Plus, the Bearcats were one of the youngest Division I programs this past season with 81 underclassmen on a 112-man roster.

In the end, a big check can wipe all of those things away, but indications are the Fickells are content and mentioned in their interviews to get the UC job their plan to stay when the program became successful.

Mark Dantonio reportedly gave Fickell a big endorsement to get here and Urban Meyer does have a son playing baseball for the Bearcats. Meyer's sister Gigi Escoe is also a UC vice provost. Some reports have had Meyer speaking for Fickell at WVU, but the recently retired coach was a Bearcat himself....................................................................................................................................................

But it's not going to be WVU in this cycle. What WVU is rumored to be offering is going to be a very small increase when compared with his salary rise in 2019 at UC. I don't think it's a done deal he's gone within 2 years even if he wins 10 games the next two seasons. It's got to be the right fit. It certainly won't be West Virginia -- I don't even think Morgantown has a Catholic high school for his kids to go to. I would be much more concerned about a Big Ten job opening up within a reasonable drive to Columbus, or perhaps even a job like Pitt where he can raise his family in a comparable city with a good Catholic school system. For those who forget, here is CLF's coaching history:

Not exactly the resume of a guy who is chasing the next paycheck out of town as soon as possible. He will leave Cincinnati, but it won't be for just any P5 job, and definitely not WVU.

Looks like the two closest Catholic high schools are Geibel Catholic Junior-Senior in PA and Notre Dame High school in WV. Both just under 50 minutes from WVU.

There are multiple catholic schools in Morgantown, WV so not sure what your source is.

No, there aren’t. St. Francis Central High closed in the 90’s leaving just the grade school. The nearest Catholic High School is Clarksburg Notre Dame. There is St. Mary’s Grade School in Clarksburg, Fairmont Catholic Grade School, and Weston St. Patrick.

You might be thinking of the Wheeling area.

West Virginia has to be the ugliest and most depressing state I've traveled too.

WVU is one of the worst p6 jobs available considering the expectations, location, and pay. Really doubt any winning AAC coach would choose WVU over their current. Better to wait for a big 5M+ payday.
