WVU fans were the best....Nothing like seeing dudes face down on the concourse at Nippert, with their hands being zip tied behind their backs by a Hamilton County Sheriff a half hour before kickoff. Even their women were belligerent drunks who wanted to fight everybody. A night game at Nippert vs. West Virginia was like a co-ed prison riot. I miss those days.

My experience at Nippert with WVU fans was 100% positive. The ones who could afford the shoes to leave their backward state were very enjoyable gentlemen.

I have had no bad experiences at Nippert. My bad experiences were at Pittsburgh when I bought Club Seats and sat among pure evil.

I miss playing teams that brought fans to Nippert. There were years where WVU easily brought north of 5k. The night game years ago where the lights went out they probably had more fans than we did. Miami hasnt brought that many the last 10 times they've played here.

I’ve told the story before of a big/gf who stood up the whole game and had this routine 4-5 throughout the game:

girl: (violently shoves guy in chest) Hey Baby! Are we going to score!
Boy: ( shoves back and yells) We’re gonna win!
Girl: I love yewwww!
(Deep kissing with tongue action)

Sat next to nice, clean cut middle-aged woman whole told me “not all West Virginians are like that.”

There were a lot of Navy fans this year— probably mostly locals who served in the armed forces. BYU brought a ton as well

The only fanbase I can remember at Nippert where security needed to be actively involved due to bad fan behavior has been WVU. Maybe UofL a little but not nearly to the level of WVU. Never seen more sloppy drunk cussing rednecks looking to pick fights.

There were WVU fans who tailgated over in the Eden Place garage and broke into a UC lab building "looking for bathrooms" and trashed the labs costing $1000s of dollars in damage.

No worries gentlemen. Looks like we got Brown.

There was real interest in LF from Gee though, that wasn't just message board guys getting worked up over the Dude and MHver posts, we know those guys are frauds

The mothman is real. Don’t joke about that or he’ll pay you a visit.

I do not believe that it would have made any sense for LF to have taken the WVU job. He has turned over his roster and has his players in place to compete for the AAC and a New Years Day Bowl. At WVU, he would have had to begin this process all anew. In addition, it does not appear that WVU plans on paying there new coach much more than LF's current contract. Lastly, I am not sure that Lukes type of ball would translate to the wide open spread formations of the Big 12. He would still have Ohio to recruit , but probably not as effectively. If he does not get a blue blood job, his next stop would be to a mid tier Big or Sec type position. A move to WVU does not make much sense.

We weren't worried.

CLF may leave UC, but it won't be for a program on your level. But thanks for the concern...

RE: Everybody calm down...take a deep breath...relax.
Neal Brown's pedigree is similar to Holgorsen. Played under Hal Mumme and his offensive strategy is very similar. He'll be hailed as the next WV Nick Saban, and then the reality of bringing guys to Morgantown for 3 or 4 years will set in, and the travels across country to play in a conference they're really not wanted in to begin with. Holgorsen struggled to recruit there in this new setup, and he didn't have a lot of luck getting guys out of his Texas roots to come there. I'll be curious to see how many of his current commits and players stick. Whoever takes that job will have their work cut out for them. Unrealistic expectations and a returning team which loses a lot of their top guys. They had big issues on defense and half the fan base are still conflicted on whether the new coach should retain DC Tony Gibson because he's a "WV guy".

I told my wife that they did this and she did not believe me. LOL My 9 year old boy was like WHY. Could not give him an answer.

Possible reasons...
1) Not much else to do in Morgantown.
2) There are too many couches left out on front porches.
3) Great mass-bonding out of body experience.
4) Pent up historical frustration from Virginia expelling them to scrap land.
5) It's a less sophisticated drinking game than beer pong or quarters.
6) Signal fires for night riding mowers races.
7) See #1
