RE: Let the conference games begin!!
SOS rating is a total joke sometimes though. Houston has played so far 2 Quad 1 and 3 Quad 2 wins.

Also, Houston has NOT played the #336 SOS. By NCAA it's #161. by RPI SOS it's #147.

I’m going by kenpom.

Who I believe has the better measure of how good a team actually is.

NET doesn’t try to show how good a team is. No one thinks Houston is the 5th best team in the nation or whatever they are in NET.

Well, even Ken Pom has it as 324 not 338 like you quoted it as ….

And I'd say Ken Pom's SOS is frankly a joke.

I don't think Houston is #4 right now. BUT I know damn well their schedule is not that bad. I mean even by Ken Pom 6 top 100 opponents so far, plus NJIT. Sorry but there is no way in hell that schedule is one of the 30 worst schedules in the country. There are teams that have played only 2-3 tier 1/2 games right now. Houston has played 5...

Stay in your lane, bro! Don't speak for everyone.

Besides, when has there ever been a "ranking" system that everyone agreed with?

Just go with the ranking you like best (or the one that has Cincy higher than UH). Conference play is about to start and everything will get sorted out. I really don't get the need to quibble over rankings and their accuracy.

Not if pesik is coaching. They are Final 4

Ponies start with ECU at home then Tulane on the road. Can we just call it a season after that?

Looks like WSU might be without their #1 and #2 big man for Thursday. Echenique is a gametime decision and Udeze hurt his shoulder in practice so also might be limited.

vs Cincinnati

That's the first 5

I hope they are ready to play. The young men (on all teams) work very hard year round for the opportunity to play in real games and seeing it snatched away due to injuries is disappointing.

Memphis, like WSU, has yet to establish an identity per veteran guard Jeremiah Martin. Penny said our identity was a nebulous "playing hard".

We play ecu,Tulane and south Florida only once and Temple only once but it’s on the road.

Our competition for the league title:

UCF: 2 games against south Florida

Houston: 2 games against USF, 2 games against ECU, plays Wichita state only once and it’s at home.

If I had to guess I’d say UC walks away with the best SOS in the league but Houston has a much much easier road to the title.

They have 5 wins just by showing up, compared 4 from UCF and just 3 for UC

usf looking much better than anticipated. Probably will end up witha better league record than smu, uconn, and maybe tulsa and memphis.

Will see.

Maybe just UConn is trash. I thought their defense was awful.

When USF plays Houston, uc and UCF it will be a lot harder to get to the rim

It looks like Udeze will be able to play so that will help a bit. I don't think we have a chance without JE. They just aren't ready yet.

Oh I get that. Personally I see him as exempt from that stuff this year. And I didn’t mean it as a troll. But given the wide-ranging opinion and commentary (or outright BS) on places like Shockernet, The Boneyard, Ponyfans, etc.... you come to expect it.

I’m just interested to see if Things go really bad, like 0-5 in that stretch, the $h!t-stirring starts.

MOST of the fanbase realizes the position we are in. Returning 11% of your minutes is hard to be consistently good. Would have been nice to land a grad transfer or something this year, but that doesn't always work out. Losing 2 guards that you weren't 100% expecting after the end of a year makes it hard to expect that next year to be great.

Marshall has a long leash .. as he should. There is a reason his contract has a stupid high buyout in it. We don't forsee the need to use.
