Makes a big difference. He's trying to get U.S. taxpayers to pay for it.

Bullshite, it isn't about the money. Money has absolutely nothing to do with why the government is shutdown. It is shut down because the democrats think stopping the wall (and a Trump win) is worth stopping a bunch of their voters from receiving paychecks. $5B is a drop I the bucket. There is no downside in building the wall. Worst case scenario is it doesn't work. We've wasted a lot more on other things that didn't work.

It would be a lot more than $5 billion not even counting maintenance costs for the foreseeable future. And Mexico is supposed to pay for it.

Just curious... during the campaign did anyone really think that Mexico was going to send money to the US to pay for the wall?
Well, apparently so.
But most rational people understand that Mexico will pay for the wall indirectly.
Imagine all the cash that WON'T flow back to Mexico from illegal workers in the US.
Imagine those under-the-table wages all of a sudden showing up on the books and the income tax revenue they'll bring.
There's more than one way to have Mexico "pay for the wall."
Hand cash over like a transaction at the store ain't one of them.

Graham says Trump is receptive to making a deal if it achieves his goal of securing the border.
Art of Deal
I'd compromise and let Dreamers stay in the U.S. However, no citizenship for them unless they graduate college (with a real degree) and at least a 2.75 GPA, get a job and stay at that employer for 5 years.
They should only be allowed to stay in New Mexico. Plenty of space for them there.
Montana, there's nothing there but deer and some antelope playing. LOL

Just put out a poll saying 80% of illegals plan to vote republican. Mexico won’t have to pay for it. Nancy and ChuckU will pay for it themselves.....
