SEC at 4-3 has five games left including next Monday in Santa Clara. Must lose two to not finish 8-4 or better. 8-4 would also beat C-USA's record through the most wins tiebreaker.

Penn St and Miss St both lost today. So we just need Texas to upset Georgia tonight and C-USA will finish with the best bowl winning % of all FBS conferences.

Well.... Texas just beat an over-rated Georgia team in the Sugar Bowl. Does that mean CUSA wins the "Bowl Cup"??

This is really good to hear / see for CUSA. It's also pretty hilarious bc its an ESPN thing and can't imagine how they play it. They will prob ignore it completely this year now. This also means CUSA is tied with the MWC for the most times winning the Bowl Cup (4 times).

Well, I'm sure the Belch will rectify that very shortly. They are trending up, right? That's what I hear. So probably next year or very soon we'll see the Belch win the Cup. They got close this year.

Does the bowl cup actually get us anything? Is there a trophy in the commissioners office? Is there prize money? Glad to get it regardless especially with the way this year looked going into the bowls.

We could have gone 5-1 or 6-0 if UAB had played Appalachian State, and MTSU had played NIU.

Yes, larger portion of the crumbs left over after p5 gets their share of playoff revenue.

Do the bowl games factor more heavily than the regular season? I assumed the payout was based on the complete season. Would be nice to get a bump from bowl season.

The Sun Belt is a 3 team league. Troy, App State, and Arkansas State have been carrying the rest for the past few years. Only those three have been playing winning football over the past 3 seasons. With Satterfield gone and Brown about to exit. the Sun Belt could be in for an even rougher patch.

It is based on the whole season. The SBC is likely going to be #3 and CUSA #4.

Non-conference it was:

SBC .545
MWC .537
AAC .491
CUSA .419
MAC .352

MWC just edges SBC if you take out FCS opponents and the rest stay the same.

I doubt those two drop for very long if at all. Both have a long tradition of winning. Ga SO and ULL have also won a lot in recent years. You have to look at more than 3 years to get any useful measurement.
