Aikens and Sanchez gone
I saw this mentioned in the Bullough thread but figured it needed its own thread.

Comes as a big surprise to me. It seemed to me that the WR corps was doing pretty well under Aiken. Obviously our secondary struggled, but it seems strange to me that Sanchez is taking the fall for that. He had a converted WR and S to work with, and a bunch of freshmen.

I do think that Sanchez and Aiken disappointed when it comes to recruiting. Seems Esposito and Evans land most of the guys.

I would of kept Aiken, i think he was loyal and deserved to finish what he started. He gets credit for developing Eskridge and Reed.

'relieved of their duties..' is rather direct, usually they say 'we thank them for their contributions, we have decided to move in a new direction...' or something along those lines.

The fans raged for blood. Or maybe there’s more to the story.

It seems what is really needed is an experienced DC and OC.Lester the CEO as head coach.

Good eye if you saw that.

It is very possible that the new DC (or even Espo if he gets permanent DC duties) will bring in his own coaches... move likely made at this time to give these guys a head start finding their next gig.

And let's not forget how good our defensive backfield would've been, had he had Sam Beal and Obbie Jackson to work with!!!!

New blood coming. DC gets to pick his help. I would argue the job the WR coach did. I don't think Eskridge has played to his full ability. He's the fastest WR in the MAC

He was our main deep option, a lot of teams focused on him, then we lost Wassink. I think this is only his third year playing reciever, so there should be more potential there.

For all we know this was related mostly to recruiting. I would say our passing game was significantly improved from last year.

Agreed. The AFCA Convention is in January so this gives everyone a chance to make some connections
