What did the Auburn / Purdue game tell us ? 63-14 !!!!!!
1. Auburn obviously got up for the game this year.
(remember last year Auburn was not motivated to play UCF in the
Peach Bowl because they were not in the 4 team playoff.)

So you can eliminate those talking points in the future as the Music
City Bowl is a much lessor bowl to get up for than the Peach bowl.

2. If Purdue had been a team from a G5 conference all we would hear
would be: See the G5 teams can't compete as Auburn from the Big SEC
boat raced them out of the stadium.

Oh; but wait Purdue is out of the power 5, Big 10 Conference and beat ohio state.

#Fair Playoff for all FBS schools.

I was at the game today (daughter is a freshman at Auburn) and I also was in attendance at the Auburn/USM game in the fall. USM was every bit as good as Purdue. Auburn just outmanned Purdue up front on both sides of the ball and were so much faster at linebacker and DB it was staggering.

This is the reason that the MAC is 2-17 in their last 19 bowl games. Those MAC programs that stay on top usually have decent skill position
guys on offense. But for the most part their defenses are sloooooow, most noticeably in the DBs, Safeties and Corners. Most recruit the Midwest hard and those players usually are no match from the speed that comes out of the south and for Marshall that usually means GA, FL and even NC and SC. And for others in CUSA that means AL, MS,LA and TX.

Yes, Purdue lost 14 - 63. But they didn't completely "Coog It" as Houston did in their 14 - 70 "P6" loss to Army.

Could be just one of those games. Auburn's defense was very fast, yet finished #44 in total defense. Their defense out-manned our offense. So much more speed. Our defense played much better versus Auburn than they did versus FSU the previous year, when we looked out-manned. I was wondering how our defense would stack up versus Auburn's offense. They did well. We have talent and speed there, and we return a good bit of it.

Could have been 70-14, Auburn took a knee on Purdue's 1 yard line.

USM was every bit as good as Purdue.

I would hope so, my friend (and while you can't always compare scores to gauge how teams would fare against one another), AU beat Purdon't by 49 at neutral site while cruising the 2nd half, and USM lost by 11 AT Auburn.

There's too many lop sided bowl game this year. I don't recall seeing this many one-sided games in the past.
