Nashville has really turned this into a very nice bowl. The place was almost full. Nice time of year to be in Nashville.

Yes, since the SEC became a regular anchor in 2006, the worst attended MC Bowl drew 49,000 fans, and yesterday's game drew 59,000.

Nashville is an appealing location. It's in the south, but the upper south, so is a pretty easy drive -no need to fly- for many B1G teams. Purdue only had to travel 45 miles further to the game than did Auburn. And it's an aesthetically pleasing city not a grimy dump.

And for SEC teams, Nashville has a strong allure as the home of country music. So e.g. a few years ago when LSU played, Tigers fans showed up in big numbers even though Nashville is almost 600 miles away. It's like a southern Mecca of sorts, very appealing.
