Do we believe we can compete with any team in C-USA? Yes. But, none of us have said we have the title in the bag. Exaggerate much.
Yeah, if I were the only one saying something like this, ok, then maybe. But I’m not. It’s multiple posters from multiple schools saying similar things. It’s not so much what is said, but it’s the perception that others have.

UNT is definitely not the top team in CUSA and will lose quite a few on the road.

At home UNT plays in dark arena that Tech has historically shot bad in (been saying this for years)

Tech was minus two starters; shot 28% in the first half with 23 points; about 10 minute stretch of 0 points; And still tied the game with a minute left, that ought to tell you something

And two of out top shooters didn’t show up. Plus, Woolridge had a really, really off night. Could have been due to LTs defensing him well. Still, his point production was way off.

Are North Texas fans truly this delusional or is this a giant troll job by their fan base?

You are comparing two of your players not playing well (which you agreed could have been because of good defense) to La Tech having two starters that didn't even play?

Wow, you can't make this stuff up.

Not sure I understand the animosity toward North Texas. We will find out how good they are in due time, but should they not feel optimistic? ODU and WKU has some better wins, but also have what North Texas has avoided: bad losses. Nobody brings their A game every time out and a hallmark of a good team is finding a way to come out on top regardless. I can't say at this point with any degree of confidence that ODU, WKU, or anyone else in CUSA is better than North Texas. We'll see.

My thoughts too. Time will tell but my feeling is they are near the top of the conference. I haven't seen too much boasting on their part.

Right on. They are having a good season and are understandably happy about it. Time will tell whether they are Championship worthy team or not and i don't understand why some folks are complaining about them being happy. Let them be ******* happy

No I'm as tired of CLT's shtick as most of you probably are. I like to occasionally mimic his posting style hoping he will see how ridiculous it is.

No way!! CLT is good people. Yes, he's a little weird.....okay, he's VERY weird, 03-lmfao but his shtick is very different from anyone else's. He's much less a drama queen than some others on here who take themselves too seriously.

Personally, I like CLTs shtick. He's pretty entertaining. Way better than that Stinkfist guy's shtick.

As the season progresses, NT, WKU and ODU will be very tough to deal with. If Marshall can find its rhythm, we may be able to make some noise. Jury is still out on that.

RE: CUSAbbs Midseason Basketball Poll
This is the first year of the NET stuff. I'm glad this is happening. If North Texas continues to win and is able to get an At Large bid (if they lose in conference tournament) then it would all be worth it.

Everyone keeps saying no way we get an At Large bid. Well you never know under a new system. Of course odds are stacked against us, but I hope we get to find out. It seems to me the NET ranking system is better for mid-majors than RPI.

0.0 chance North Texas gets at large bid even if they win out until conf. final with that non schedule they played......Although I am sure they will drop at least 3 to 4 conf. games...

you seem to think the at large bids will follow the Net Ranking. It's "A" tool, not the only one used.

RE: CUSAbbs Midseason Basketball Poll
Net rankings will be worthless just like RPI was for teams like us, they use those rankings to justify high seeds for 10 loss Power Conf. teams...People still realize this is a human selection committee right?

CUSAbbs Midseason Basketball Poll
OATM says Rice’s magic number for clinching first ever Frisco bid is already down to four.
