Over my years around the military, I saw a couple of dominant opinions on our leaders.

One was they were too afraid to turn the military loose to do its job.

The other was they risked military lives going into places we probably shouldn't be anyway.

Trump has loosened the rules of engagement and essentially eliminated concern number one.

Now he is addressing concern number two.

I am no longer around military people regularly, but I have to think the rank and file are pretty happy with Trump.

So, why would trump lie about something so obviously incorrect and clearly known to the people he said it to who get a monthly statement telling them their pay?
