Dontonio Wingfield
During the lull of waiting for the Bearcats to return to the field/court, why not pick up a book.

“Dontonio Wingfield knows the powerful pull of the past. Having grown up in a world of poverty, abuse and addictions, he passionately pursued a path that would take him to a successful life of money and fame. His status as the Albany (Georgia) basketball superstar of the 1990’s opened the door for him to become a starting freshman at the University of Cincinnati. After one year, Dontonio was drafted to the NBA by the Seattle Supersonics reaching the pinnacle of success. However, all of it came crashing down in one fatal swoop. With honesty and transparency, Dontonio shares with the rest of the world his story of mistakes and poor choices that led him to a season of darkness and pain. Fortunately, that season was neither final nor fatal. Dontonio chose to rise up to a life filled with meaning and purpose. As a result, he is creating a new life for himself and for future generations.”

Still wonder what could have been, I enjoy a good redemption story though. Props to the guy for pulling through. An abusive background takes years to shake off and will affect your world view and ability to interact with others, in ways that can't necessarily be made obvious to others. The worst pain and scarring is the kind others cannot see.

Don, Satt & DJ. What might have been for them and Bearcat fans had they stayed in Clifton just a little longer.

DeMarr was a lotto pick. Technically he is the one of the three who made the correct choice.

A former Ohio University men’s basketball player has been arrested on burglary charges stemming from an incident on Nov. 25 at an apartment at River Park Towers.
Dontonio B. Wingfield, Jr., 21, of North McKinley (River Park) has been charged with first-degree felony aggravated burglary. He is alleged to have entered an apartment at the apartment complex and threatened residents there with a deadly weapon.
No one was injured in the incident, according to the police report, which states that a known individual is alleged to have forced his way into a room at the apartment complex asking for the location of another man at gunpoint.

A warrant for Wingfield was issued Dec. 1, and officers attempting to locate him at his own apartment in River Park on Friday, Dec. 4 were delayed for several hours by three more individuals who are accused of refusing to answer the door.
Those three people were arrested and charged with misdemeanor obstructing official business. The Athens County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team assisted officers with Wingfield’s apprehension, according to the report, and Wingfield was arrested at that apartment without further incident.
Wingfield played for the OU Bobcats men’s basketball team in the 2013-14 season but did not see action due to injury. He is not listed as having been a part of the team in subsequent seasons.
Wingfield is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, with a court appearance scheduled for Dec. 14.
