What league were the Toledo Tornadoes in? I was a tad young to really remember them. But at least two of them were teachers in the Northwood school system. Joe Migliorie And Jim Derr. Jim was a varsity football coach and the wrestling coach. Jim was a good coach and a really good man.

Thank you for posting the link. I see several players were former
Toledo University players. Now known as The University of Toledo.

Interesting. I went to Olney elementary from K to 4th grade. We lived in the Bieber addition - off Curtice Rd. Every once in awhile when I'm in town, I will drive over there to look at the old neighborhood, and to see if I can remember who lived where. Can remember about half of the neighborhood and who lived in each house. And I only lived there until 4th grade. Neighbors used to know each other and do things together.

The thing I remember about Jim Derr is when they had the faculty basketball game - and it was played while riding on the backs of donkeys. Jim looked way too big for the donkey he was on, and we were just waiting for the poor donkey to break a leg. Would probably be considered animal cruelty now...

Where did you live? Not a whole lot of neighborhoods way back then. Seems like most everyone lived over by Hirzel's or Great Eastern shopping center. Funny that we moved to East Toledo for a year, then to Oregon - and lived less than 2 miles from our house in Northwood.

I wonder if Woodside could play receiver as a pro, maybe not enough speed?

After seeing him drop a sure touchdown pass against Cincy years back on a trick play, I highly doubt it...
That play drove the Rocket fans down at Paul Brown nuts. If we score, stay close at half, then it’s a different game...03-banghead

RE: Woodside
Too late to make the move from QB to WR and with a 4.79 40y dash it would never be happening.
