Chuck Bullough.. DC?
Bullough was our LB coach in 2005. Is currently MSU defensive ends coach. Was Syracuse DC a few years ago, I think Esposito should remain as DL coach. He is a great recruiter and we need that, obviously. I just think we need a new scheme under a different voice...Thoughts?

Good man. Hilarious. He and Coach Espo would be a good pair.

Would be a step back for Bullough career-wise (and possibly monetarily).

RE: Chuck Bullough.. DC?
That would be a huge pull if Lester was able to swing it.... but like Major has stated... its likely a step backwards... However he would have full control over the defense again... would be interesting to see what Lester does over the next couple months.

I would support change on defense.

Cool. Now can TL get himself an OC and start acting like a Head Coach?

Not gonna happen, he said himself he didn’t know what to do when not calling plays. A very troubling statement from the “head coach”

Maybe it’s time we bring back EJ Biggers to run our secondary... he’s doing work with young athletes in Florida looking to get big time offers..

I can’t imagine it being a bad thing... NFL experience... WMU pedigree... could be a great addition to this defensive staff..

Would Lester hire his potential replacement? Actually though, I doubt Pinkham would want to come back after not being given a fair opportunity to win the HC position by KB. And I wouldn't blame him. But looking back on what he was able to do with the same players Lesters staff inherited with even more experience, and who flourished with Pinkham, but floundered without him, tells you something about the quality of what he did.

UMASS had the worst defense in the country last year. look at the numbers, it will make you sick. No way would I take Pinkham back either.

More staff shakeups https://wmubroncos.com/news/2018/12/28/w...FQpVhi6AUM

"Wide receiver coach Ashton Aikens and cornerbacks coach Nick Sanchez have been relieved of their duties and will not have their contracts renewed for next season."

I dunno. When it comes to the MAC and conferences outside the power five where we cannot pay our assistant coaches the top pay, I don't have a huge problem with Lester calling the plays. Too many assistants depart for bigger programs when successful. Ohio is the the only MAC school that I know of that retains their assistants.

Don't get me wrong, ideally I think you're both right in having a true offensive coordinator. However, the way Lester runs the offense I just don't have a problem with it -- yet. If we can spend more on a GREAT defense coordinator and allow Lester to run the offense seems like a win-win to me.

Cirarocca and Pinkham were getting paid VERY well, i believe in the 250k range. We should be able to be in that range!

If true, that is GREAT pay for OC/DC. However, Michigan pays 3 coordinators more than Lester: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/colle.../97003278/

Now, take a look at Nick Holt, the DC at Purdue, who got buried by Auburn today. He makes $500K. Illinois DC: $550K. And that is my point -- we could match the salary of a Big Ten bottom feeder if we paid our DC more and our OC less.

We paid over 300k for our OC. We have the money, our athletic department needs to step up and help Lester get QUALITY COACHES HERE!!
