I think the refs won this one. And they didn't quit until the final horn, continuing to aggressively make bad calls even in the final seconds.

You are 100% right. I felt sorry for the players on both teams. It is hard to play when there is no consistency in the calls and lack of calls. The best officials are ones you don't think about or notices. Great point!

Really ugly game. Rockets had two short bursts of excellence (early 1st qtr and early 3rd qtr) which totaled about 6 minutes and were mediocre the rest of the way. Hard to find anyone who really played well, maybe Boyd and Black. McIntyre had one of her weaker efforts. This was an opponent without a legitimate post defender but their zone defense managed to keep the ball away from McIntyre especially in the first half. When she did get shots she missed a bunch of easy ones. Santucci did make 3 x 3pt shots. Beacham had 9 points off the bench but missed 3 of 6 free throws and also a couple of put backs. They will need to be able to play better than this against the zone because they will be seeing a lot of it in the MAC this year. Many opponents will use it to attempt to take McIntyre out of the game which Detroit was reasonably effective doing tonight.

Anybody know why live stats froze in the first quarter? We missed so many FTs and bunnies. And still won pretty easily. McIntyre looked exhausted most of the second half.

Watched the second quarter which was brutal with turnovers and missed shots. I was thinking, what is this team going to do next season without Boyd and McIntyre?

She only played 27 minutes so shouldn't have seemed that tired unless she wasn't feeling well.

Who is the UT official scorer, and what game are they watching?

Like the previous game, it seemed the number of steals attributed to UT was low. In fact McIntyre is credited with 0, even though she had two clear strip steals in the game.

Went and checked the official play-by-play on the UT website. Late in the 2nd there was a sequence that happened like this:
- McIntyre steal (UD turnover)
- McIntyre missed layup
- Boyd rebound and missed putback
- McIntyre rebound, UD foul and 2 FT for McIntyre

This shows up in the official box as:
- UD turnover
- UD foul & 2 FT for McIntyre

No steal, no missed shots, no rebounds. What the heck. How long has this been happening?

I’ve commented on this before. Sanford had several clean blocks last year that were never credited. Happens a lot.

I wonder how many rebounds and steals Boyd really has had in her career. Makes you wonder about the record book.
