Very true. Usually a strength of the Rockets, the OL has been just mediocre this year. I expect that we will see a dramatic improvement in this area in 2019. We still will need to find a QB that is capable of going thru his progression to find the open receiver. Just as importantly, we need to find some guys that are capable of playing linebacker effectively at the Div 1 level.

Well, that all seems simple enough! (Smile)

I suppose it’s possible that 3 or 4 OL guys who either sat out this season or who stayed on the sidelines all season could be surprises and just take over in the trenches next season, but I’m skeptical...problems on the line existed all season & Candle stuck with the same bunch, so nobody else seemed ready to step in.

As for QB, you are correct. But, that skill & awareness only come from experience. So either Peters makes a ton of progress in the spring & summer, or we start all over with Bradley or Finn, and they aren’t gonna have that ability to go thru their progressions in their first real season of college ball.

And linebacker? Again, I agree with you...but, again, if nobody stepped up this season at a position that should have been the easiest to dislodge a starter, I’m just not sure how full the cupboard is there for next season.

I just think it’s going to take a couple seasons to fix all of this.

We are only graduating 13 seniors. Another 12 months of maturity and strength will make a major difference for the balance of the team. If we would have benched all of the seniors in favor of underclassmen this year, I guarantee that you would have seen that 3-9 season. Why in the world would a winning team bench all of the seniors? I was as frustrated as anyone with some of losses this year, especially the Bowl game, but we have solid program that has been proven over time. I believe that 2019 will be at least an 8 win season. If I am wrong then enjoy the "I told you so" GO ROCKETS!

And I'm hoping that I am right 04-cheers BTW, UT should hire Phillip Ely as QB coach. He was the first Rocket QB since Grads that could go through progressions. IMO, he made Logan a success.

Someone said Brian Jones was a QB coach someplace. That kid was good. Too bad we only had him as a starter for one year. But then what is wrong with Bruce. I’m pretty sure he said something about wanting to coach here so QB coach would be a good start.
