RE: There’s Something Seriously Building for NIU Football
I think a reasonable expectation is a P5 win here and there, MACC & Bowl win. My goal every year is to clip the Top 25. We can get there. We were a QB away from getting it done this year. I do think Childers might surprise next year... I sure hope so & we see 2nd half MACC Childers all year. It is critical that we get more positive mojo from the fan base to get to the next level. Being a naysayer only drags the whole thing down. Positive momentum from the team and fan base is how you get it done. Let’s look at the bright side as a whole and not get in the negative rabbit hole so bad. It is exhausting and does nothing but create backward momentum. Does not mean we cant be realistic and bring up issues.

I think many would disagree about the QB away thing. When you dont run an offense that has a chance to succeed, it's pointless. I'd argue lets not be so negative about the QB who is doing best he can given cards he is being dealt with the coaching situation/limitation

It's really hard to argue the arrow is pointing up right now. Something was just so off to me watching that bowl game. It was not something I even really looked forward to that day which is extremely rare for me. I dont know why but there is just a disconnect right now. I think the apathy of the head coach is rubbing off on the program big time now. The games are not real entertaining to watch.

This entire comment, especially the bolded part, is the dumbest thing I've ever read on this message board.

Imagine if MD were a Bama fan...what would his complaints look like?

He’s that loudmouth at the games that’s constantly yelling Fire Carey. Oh how fans love hearing that every 10 seconds. Really adds to the experience. Would rather watch NIU football burn to the ground just so he can fulfill his obsession of getting Carey fired.

Were you in Detroit? It was absolutely electrifying that night.

No way he/she was at MACC game! That place was electric. Highlight of the year by far. We partied late into the night, made new huskie friends and nobody had any apathy or disconnect for the program that is for sure.

He was banned for like 6 months, but people missed him so they let him back.
