Simply put:

We need a TRUE point guard in the worst way. A guy who understands the game and is a leader on the floor.

Last decent one we had was Travon Baker. He'd do wonders on this team.

Before Travon I'd have to hit the "archives" to remember a decent one that played in the Convo and not Chick Evans.

This.

Relying on German to essentially play point is really counterproductive. I think Hankerson got some time last night. Maybe he's the eventual answer at that spot?

A shame Porter never became what he could have been...him as a senior on this team, would look real nice.

It is a shame. He had the physical skills but not sure about the rest of the package.

The real shame is the D1 scholarship he didn't take advantage of.

Reminded me of the good ole days. 03-yawn This would have been a great one to win to gain momentum. NIU basketball just refuses to really take that step. Oh well, on to the next game and I will be fired up again. Always an angle. 04-rock

The team missed a bunch of shots right around the rim and got outscored on threes and transition as always. They play hard but have no basketball IQ. Example: There was a time when CMU went to the hoop hard and missed. We got the ball and they had two guys laying in a pile under their basket. That should be a layup at the other end but our guys walked it up and didn't get a fast break. It also looks like they struggle to get set up on offense every time down the court. Getting more transition buckets would help immensely.
Agreed. I've noticed that they have issues getting the ball into the post. Akron game was a crime: Big guy would post with smaller defender. Guard would have ball on the same side and refused to look inside.

On radio last nite, Baker/Monty commented how Bradley had 27 points but needed more touches. Call it missed opportunities.

Totally agree. I also see EMU in need of this. If EMU had better guard play, they could be Buffalo level ,
