I understand where you're coming from, but that last TD drive displayed more than "short comings." This game was WON if the clock had been managed like an average, competent college football coach. I'm still in utter disbelief at what I just witnessed.

I think the questionable play calling all season is a result of not being able to trust your QB.

I haven’t seen it...he’s a good offensive minded coach but needs a lot of work on his game management skills...if he was to take another job I wouldn’t be as disappointed as when fuente left.

I would expect the admin and boosters to pull out the search firm and go get us our next good coach. Norvell is not irreplacable at this point.

Nominated for stupid post of the year.

Then you havent read many posts. I guess if Norvell announced he was leaving you would slash your wrists?

This is college football.

We are one bad hire away from 2009-11.

How do you not grasp this?

We are one great hire from taking over and dominating the AAC also. That goes both ways.

Sorry to hear you and that other guy are convinced Norvell is irreplacable.
You don’t read well either. I never said he was irreplaceable. I do think however, that unlike you, most rationale folks would hate to see him leave.

I don't think any of us are stupid. We all think we need better play calling. Not that much to ask for amount he is making.

Of course, losing our entire starting DL didn't help.

How could anyone trust a QB which is 4th in Tiger history in single-season TD passes and Passing yards? Not to mention 8th in career TD passes and career passing yards after a single year.

I feel the same way.. No doubt the team has played bad, especially in the rain games, but it wasnt just bad play that lost the games. In every loss there was that critical moment where you either win or lose and each time Norvell would pull the most boneheaded decision you could make to directly lose a game.
02-13-banana I agree 100% with you. Every time in the last couple of games we tried a stupid pass in a goal line situation only to have Brady misfire and lose the game. Our strength is running the ball and we always try a pass on the goal line instead of just ramming it in with our explosive and strong running backs.
All fans were calling for the Dorceous line up in the UCF game but no, lets be real cute and pass which cost us the game. Today why go for two with a pass ? That two point try interception in the end zone and consequent run back by Wake Forest cost us this ball game also. Two more wins could have been this year for sure. Oh well, there is still basketball for the hopes of a championship tiger team. We will see.
Boy oh boy did our secondary get burned all day long today. Both the long balls especially and the slant passes all day long. Sometimes we just suck and it frustrates the #$!@^& out of me.

Bingo, I agree. A more experienced coach that can reign him in a bit. And someone like that might help with our clock management problems too.

Trying to stay out of your cat fight , I don’t care what the qb numbers say; in this offense, system designed to make average qbs look great, ours is substandard with a capital S. You have either never played, or don’t really watch to not see this. It’s is our weakest link, in the last half of the year, after our cupcake early schedule !!!

I'm curious. How did their offensive line keep our defense from getting off of their blocks the entire game. Did the have a technique that we could not get away from. I think it is called "holding".

The QB and RB would sit back there for 3 to 5 seconds and decide how to run the play.

I wonder if I can stomach watching the replay to get a second look.

Man, MN looked and sounded crushed in the post game presser. He probably needs the week off to recover from this game and recruiting.

Yeah, he hasn't had a lifetime of Lucy pulling the ball out like most Memphis fans have had.

Its called lack of a pass rush. Even when we sent a corner or safety, they were stone walled. Just need more good players on D.
