Butch Jones said this on Twitter space... Wonder why?

"FIU Coach Butch Davis said Thursday a sore throwing arm will keep starting quarterback James Morgan out of Friday’s Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl against Toledo."

“In our last game against Marshall, he suffered a small injury in the tricep,” Davis said at the last pregame news conference. “If the bowl game was another week or 10 days -- he’s very close -- you could’ve said it was game time decision. But to protect his future as a quarterback, we didn’t want to take the risk. ”

Well, that’s a shame. On the other hand our number 1 is down, too andMorgan never beats us anyway.

Apparently he can’t handle the pressure of facing the mighty Rockets again and taking L #2.

Could this bowl game get any easier of a win for Toledo? Lost a RB and now down their stud QB. Toledo should roll in this game!

I was thinking the same thing, but back up qbs tend to do well against us. Hoping our back up qb, keeps the ball in our guys hands.

He's also a better runner on a day where high winds are likely to be an issue.

Should and will are two different things unfortunately. We seem to have taken to the Rod Carey form of bowl prep the last couple years

Side note, I read that the RB is a 3rd stringer who has hardly played but I could be wrong on that.

Rushed for 300+ yards, IIRC, so not a huge loss for FIU.

Not even Toledo can out-Carey the real Rod Carey bowl preparation. 6-game bowl losing streak. What other programs are on such a skid right now? And all of them were blowouts except the Utah St. game where our Heisman finalist QB and top 15 offense did absolutely nothing.
