Temple - 92nd
UConn - 134th
Memphis - 160th
Cincy - 294th
Louisville - 295th
SMU - 306th
Rutgers - 308th
South Florida - 315th
UCF - 343rd
Houston - 344th

League average = ~259th

So far for 18-19, we're looking at...

Memphis - 73rd
Temple - 127th
Wichita - 128th
Cincy - 157th
Tulane - 222nd
UCF - 234th
Tulsa - 260th
Houston - 300th
SMU - 317th
UConn - 335th
USF - 347th
ECU - 351st

League average = ~237th

Not a significant difference between the 2 seasons but it does validate that a better winning percentage this season would hold some weight for the conference at least compared to 5 seasons ago.

I see we are modeling ourselves after Houston.... hope it works!

Im surprised at Wichita so far this year. I thought that was a program just reloaded with top end talent every year. They certainly arent bad---but this season they look more like a Tulsa than a the elite program I thought we were adding.

That's because their program is regressing to their mean. They had a great run of 6+ years (like Tulsa did in the 90's) but it's just not sustainable.

Exactly like Tulsa. We can’t keep a decent coach.

Final December Average Conference Rank per Massey Composite (i.e. final nonconference average rank)

2013-14 = 95th (4 bids)
2014-15 = 129th (2 bids)
2015-16 = 114th (4 bids)
2016-17 = 120th (2 bids)
2017-18 = 113th (3 bids)
2018-19 = 110th as of 12/23 - EDIT

The better the average rank after the nonconference, the higher the value for each conference win. On a path to 3 or 4 bids this year.

RE: Best OOC ever
so league is 103-42 so far. 5 games left. Need to win them all to finish best ever.

what is left:
Friday- NC A&T @ East Carolina 71% chance of winning for ECU
Saturday- NJIT @ Houston 91% chance of winning for Houston
Saturday- Florida A&M @ Memphis 97% chance of winning for Memphis
Saturday- Fairleigh Dicksinson @ USF 77% chance of winning for USF
Jan 19- Penn @ Temple 68% chance of winning for Temple

by the odds- should get 4 more wins and come up just short.

Yep. But also the same Penn team that beat Nova, who Temple lost to.

I’ll predict Temple beats Penn, giving the AAC a 108-42 record in OOC games for the regular season. And 104-34 not counting Tulane 03-banghead

RE: Best OOC ever
I roll my eyes when you guys call the American a P6 in football.

But in basketball, AAC is most definitely a P6, and Pac12 might make it P7 if this season is just a down year for Pac12.

I have a gut feeling AAC will be a solid P6/7 in basketball this season, and seasons to come.

My MWC, however, is literally fighting with the WAC this season to be the 3rd best western conference. Behind WCC and Pac12 (respectively, maybe?)

But I have hope MW will eek out a 2 bid in the NCAAT with Nevada and my Bulldogs. The rest of the MW is mediocre to ugly.

I roll my eyes when peeps like you roll their eyes. It's a perfectly effective PR campaign, or you wouldn't mention it, lol.

Come on now the only thing they could hope to be close on is football, us being better than them in every metric has to be galling.

The fact that they don't realize the P6 campaign is about the ability as a conference to compete with the A5 in every sport shows their narrow view of success the mw and its fans have.
