Now that guy is LEGIT! First team All-America. Great player!
Let me get this straight. Sutton Smith is 6'1" and 237lbs. He'll either be a way undersized DE or have to change positions. Yet you think he's a great prospect while you're skeptical of the EMU guy that needs to bulk up a little. Do I have this right?

Your bizarre bias against any EMU player not named Weigers is obvious. Like you've got some strange grudge. Get over it and move on.
Sutton Smith is going to be an outstanding OLB or Strong safety.

So you're more confident in a guy from the MAC changing positions then a guy that will be playing his normal position, where he has proven ability?

Your hatred for EMU and the Crosby family has been exposed once again.

I don't hate the guy but have you watched him play? He is rail thin! Now look at Sutton Smith. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGUxT_Yv-XM

Admit it, you want Maxx to fail because his dad called you out repeatedly. You're probably also butthurt because Weigers wasn't all MAC and didn't play in the bowl game (for the record, I like Tyler and appreciate that he chose EMU. He delivered one of my all-time favorite EMU wins at PU).

I think both Maxx and Smith could be successful in the NFL. Hoping one or both end up in Detroit.

RE: Not Good re: Maxx Crosby
Nickel, I couldn't care less about Crosby's dad. I watched him closely and he was way overrated. Someone who is 50/50 to even get drafted probably needs to return to school and bulk up. If I had to guess, his leaving early has probably more to do with his not not exactly embracing the education side of college. Just a guess. Why wouldn't you improve your stock AND get a FREE diploma? Makes no sense. The guys I really admire on D are: Rachwal, Harris, Hoying. Guys who bust their tails and don't run to piles and taunt the opposing team if they didn't make the tackle themselves...Hope it works out, nonetheless.

As for Wiegers, makes sense that he didn't play in the bowl game, he is not here next season. Two things: EMU would have probably won the game- their first bowl win in 31 freakin' years and 2. EMU would not have made the bowl had if not for Wiegers. What a sh*** way to treat someone who got them to the bowl.

I assume he goes maybe 3rd round, or even as high as 2nd.

I'll check some scouting services.

Tough these guys have already done EMU proud. Nothing but best wishes for them all in their future. I would love to see any of them go high in the draft but keep in mind that TJ Lang did not go until the fourth round and I think he has had a pretty respectable and lucrative career.

RE: Not Good re: Maxx Crosby
I wish Maxx all the best.
For those who have concerns about him finishing his degree, many athletes in his position (redshirting and then playing three years) are set up well to complete their degree at this point in the game and stay for grad school if they choose to come back for their 5th year. So he should be good to go in that area.
My only concern for him is that I keep hearing that this is a DEEP draft for the D Line. I’m sure he and his family have weighed all the options though.

@Etough congrats to you, sir! I’m big on Fatherhood and it’s evident that you’ve done a lot well in raising your son. My hat is off to you.

I am surprised Banham didn't give it a shot. He reminds me of those quick little receivers that the NE Patriots seem to prefer and do well.

Yeah I am surprised about Banham as well pretty multiple position player. Honestly more suited maybe to the CFL rather than NFL.

@etough thanks for continuing to share! Fun stuff.

And @KPJ those were my thoughts exactly. He might just have a few online classes he can take to complete it at this point.
