The main thing is a decent OOC schedule and drop the CUPCAKES

Programs to consider, Maryland, Virginia, Carolina, south Carolina, ga tech va tech, wake forest
Rutgers, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon state
I hope somebody is making calls every day and taking road trips can be fun. U might want to fly to Oregon state

Please post ticket stubs of all the road games you've been to in the last 5 years.

You keep showing how little you understand anything, much less scheduling. Most every single person on this thread is arguing about ONE game. Change LA Monroe for LSU or GA State for GA Tech and nobody complains about playing 2 P5s, 1 G5 and 1 FCS buy game. Anyone that does is just plain dumb. And what good does it do our program to play Rutgers, Indiana or Oregon State?

You could probably trade out a low level P5 for a high level G5 team (Boise, BYU). Nobody in their right mind wants the program to give up playing a buy game against an FCS or at least one G5 game that makes sense each year.

I just ran a "what if"... cuz I ain't chicken...

2 for 1 against Alabama, 2 for 1 against Arkansas, 3 for 3 against State, 1 for 2 against stAte, 2 for 2 against UAB, 2 for 2 against Ole Miss, a 1 for 1 against BYU. All over the next 8 seasons, just to see how many home games we could muster each year.

These are theoretical opponents - just showing how 2 for 1s aren't the end of the world.
So that's 4 years with 7 home games, and 4 years with 6.

Good math, but no way in hades Miss State and ole miss give us those deals if we are giving up 2:1 to any other P5s, much less AR. AR State isn't about to do a 2:1 against us either. You math is not based in any form or reality.

Oh yeah??? Well check the schedule... Miss State IS playing us 1:1. If you are saying YOU THINK that this latest 1:2 with Arkansas will CHANGE the way Ole Miss and State deal with us, I THINK you are wrong. And neither one of us has proof to go along with our OPINIONS.

As far as stAte... well, I think we ought to float the idea when our current 2:2 is done. The worst they can say is "no".

And I think we ought to make a big marketing push to shame Tennessee into playing us 2:2. Or at least 2:3.

Well, not that I will claim to be in my right mind, but we're pretty much to the point of program solidness and continuity that the buy game does us little good. We can drop the Mercers and UT-Martins now and go with Louisiana-Lafayette or South Alabama or other such less punching bag of an opponent. Yeah, most of the Memphis Miserables won't think any more of them and show up, but at least you won't have diehards leaving at halftime with it 45-0.

Good Lord just give it up already.

90% of FBS programs have an FCS game.

We've had an FCS game since 2001.

It isn't going anywhere, no matter how good or bad our OOC is otherwise.

Because those programs won't be a buy game at another G5 program. So, you at best you are going to get a 2:1 with a program, which I don't see happening. A h:h totally defeats the point of a guaranteed home game.

And I think we ought to make a big marketing push to shame Tennessee into playing us 2:2. Or at least 2:3.

A 1:1 agreed to years ago is NOTHING like a 3:3 and I can promise you the tides are changing in football and the gap is going to get wider not more narrow. VA Tech is pulling out of contracts with ECU, Miami pulled out of a contract with us and bailed on AR State's home game. Multiple P5s are changing the way they do contracts with us. Why would ole miss admit that they are less than a team like AR? Once again FACTS on the changing landscape. If you refuse to admit them in your opinions, that is up to you.

AR State turned down TWO 2:1s with P5s because they didn't think it was worth it and cost too much on the travel. They sure as hell aren't going to give us a 2:1. Those are FACTS.

If you think ANYTHING Memphis will do to "shame" ut into playing us, you are delusional. It literally took an act of Congress to get them to play us. Why do you think an ad campaign is going to work?!! Once again FACTS.

No, those are all opinions. Unless you are in the negotiating room when these deals are discussed???

Ole Miss likes to do 1:1s with us because they view Memphis as an almost home game for their alumni who live in Memphis. (That's my opinion)
Just because Va Tech and Miami pulled out of h:hs with ECU and stAte has no FACTUAL inflection on other P5's relationships with us. They might view Memphis as a recruiting ground. We don't know.

And there's a difference between stAte travel costs and trouble from Jonesboggie to ANY P5 and from Jumpin' Joe to Mempho. The Red Wolves AD said himself in a radio interview recently (per one of our posters who actually heard the interview) that they would go so far as a 1:5 with Arkansas. I consider THAT a fact. Also, that sounds pretty desperate...

Had a long reply to debate your points but... Honestly, I hope you are right. I would MUCH rather have your view of schedules than what we will likely be facing in the future. I think you will see 6 home games more seasons than not, with a possibility of 5 if we have to do too many 2:1s. I think AR making the 3rd game a buy game helps our cause, but there is mounting pressure to not schedule G5s at all much less doing H:H with us.

Very true. And between fans that are passionate about our Tigers, things can get heated, but I never have or will have negative things to say about you as a fan.

You've shown your Tiger Blue colors too often to think anything other than that.

Can't wait until Aug 31st!!

Nobody agrees with you, because much like your statement about me, you are wrong on most everything.

Still waiting on all those road game tickets you seem to attend and have no problem volunteering everyone else for....

We used to have straight home games with A-state. Then they changed it to 2 for 1's with us. Then they came back and said home-home. That's when we started taking breaks from playing them.

H/H is all we get with them these days. We also cannot get multi-year deals with Old Miss and MissState these days. They will give us H/H (for now) here and there, but they're not doing 4 and 6 year contracts.

I appreciate your passion. And there is nothing wrong with your math. It's just your assumptions are unrealistic.
