Several sources are reporting that today's TN/Mem game was the first sellout since 2009. I’m surprised that the Louisville games that Pastner’s teams played weren’t sellouts. How did those games not sell out?

This game wasn’t a sellout. The upper end court section on the west end was almost completely empy.

That is the student section. They do not sell those seats publically; thus sellout.

Those Louisville games were sellouts from practical standpoint. If you wanted a LL seat the week of the game it cost 3-400 if my memory serves. Few empties in each upper corner. Maybe 150-200.

There is a difference between a sell out and the building being completely full.

I think the school is setting the criteria of a "sellout" as 18,400 tickets sold/distributed. Not sure why that conflicts with the stated capacity - wonder if it has to do with the boxes? They were supposed to put those unclaimed student tix on sale yesterday morning, but probably didn't have enough time to accomplish much.
