We handily outrebounded UT on the offensive glass
We finished with only 9 turnovers. UT had 18, 4 above their average
Finished with 10 3 pointers.
We had 21 assists on 33 made field goals.
We had 10 steals to their 4.
We started/played multiple freshmen. They returned 11 players from last years team.
We filled the Forum.

No, I’m not satisfied. But I am encouraged.

RE: Encouraged
Interesting, we will return five players who are in the rotationnext year barring odd stuff.

Jones
Lomax
Harris
Maurice
Enoch

Really like that those three guards will be sophomores.

Add a kid who may be the top big man freshman in the country, plus a few other 4 star plus freshmen and the Louise transfer, and makings of a less deep but stronger team.

Am encouraged for conference play THIS year. Davenport, Martin, Brewton, Parks, Thornton plus the above kids will gel. Real threat come tourney time if some pains heading there.

Bad stretch in the first half. Other than that we were right there with them.

3 freshmen vs an experienced SEC champion. Harris couldn't buy a bucket. The team scrapped despite getting down big and being down the entire game.

What I liked best was that despite Harris poor shooting, he did not force any shots, or sulk. That is huge maturity for such a young player.

What I don't like, is that in almost every game our runs are stopped by Brewnton, Thornton, and Jones taking quick, selfish shots. They need to realize they are wide open from 3 for a reason.

This is the Vols best team they have ever had and our undersized youngsters stood toe to toe with them.

They were 4-8 from three. I'll take that every day from them.
