Raycom Media Camelia Bowl: Georgia Southern vs Eastern Michigan
This is a made-for-ESPN game if there ever was one. Two lacklustre MAC and Sun Belt teams square off in Montgomery, Alabama for who knows what reason, but I will be watching anyway, LOL. Guess that's the reason.

Vegas says that EMU is a 4 point favorite, but the Massey Composite says that GSU is the #53 team and EMU the #79 team, so let's see.

EMU was a chipshot FG from the MAC CCG finishing 7-5 with a win over Purdue and its only 8+ point loss to Army, which doesn’t bode well against triple option Georgia Southern.

Georgia Southern scores first. 95 yards and 9 minutes. A thing of beauty

Technically it was 4th and 4 inside the ten, but whatever. Entertaining game in a matchup of Eagles vs. Eagles.

Wow, what a scramble by the GS quarterback on 4th and 10.

Looks like another Huron heartbreaker as Georgia Southern improvises a QB run on 4th & 10 in the final minute.

GS attempts a 40 yard field goal to win it at the buzzer. The kick is up and it is ................ GOOD!

Georgia Southern wins the Camelia Bowl, 23-21 !!!

One great thing about these little bowls is the kids really care. When the kick went through the uprights, the GS players stormed the field and started jumping around and dogpiling like they won the Super Bowl.

If that kid isn't a senior he will make some AA teams next year. Clutch. Was like 19 for 21 this season.

What Coach Chris Creighton has done at EMU is amazing! EMU was "The Absolute Mother Of All Dumpster Fires". They wouldn't have been a respectable d2 school. Grand Valley State would have rolled them. Now he's got them fighting, competing, going bowling. Wow. Much respect.

I think so. He’s got the leg for 60. Both kicks that he missed were in the same game too (the whole team had an epic collapse)...and one was like 58 yards or something...had the distance...just off target. Because of that one game, he only made it to being a Lou Groza semi-finalist. His predecessor was a Lou Groza finalist for us.

Arguably the most entertaining game of the day though the Fresno pick six might have been the play of the day.

Yes, and he has a really nice swing on the ball, his kicks all look the same, very consistent.

I loved it, camped in front of my TV all day and watched all 5 games, drinking beer and eating pizza and chips. As someone else said, it was almost like a regular season Saturday.

First weekend of bowl season is the best non-playoff date. You usually have at least two G5 champions playing and sometimes three. Usually have a couple G5 also-rans who both arrive unhappy with an in-season stumble and looking to prove a point. You get a lot of games so probabilty favors something being fun
