I think our university has put academics before athletics. On top of that concept the AD begrudgingly put basketball over football. One school is tops in the country and the other is just above a community college

I wonder what choice Arth was for Akron. From multiple sources Joel and Casey were flying all over the country interviewing candidates (and getting turned down) last year.

Depends on who you ask. No one will ever know because no one is honest anymore. But it sounds like the UA AD had his heart set on an NFL guy but got turned down. I would imagine at this level very rarely do you ever land your number one choice.
