Sounds like a winner to me.

RE: Report: App State to hire Eliah Drinkwitz
Just taking a cursory look at things, I think he's a good OC.

Brian Harsin's best offense at Boise appears to be when he was an OC Brett Rypien's freshman year and Dave Doeren's offenses seemed to be better for sure after he took over.

The big question to me is if he'll keep in place at least some of Scott Satterfield's offense in play and run it well. I know App fans will probably disagree and take issue with this, but there will be growing pains if he plans on throwing it 30-40 times a game with their current roster.

Not sure if he’ll be able to right off the bat, but Drink will want to sling it.

With the RBs we have we can't do that. I see him mixing it up. While we may throw more which all of us fans wanted, the run game will be needed and he will see that. Peoples you all will love to hate!

Did not see this coming. Which is why I like it. His numbers at State and Boise are very impressing. Gattis has less experience but brought a piece of Saban with him. Drink is more of a proven product. Welcome to App coach Drink!!

I don't think with Peoples, Evans, and Williams that App will be passing the ball 30-40 times a game. But if we did Sutton, Hennigan, Virgil, Williams, and Evans could be a force in a pass heavy offense. The talent is there.

All the best offenses at the pro and college levels now pass more. It's just the way the game is. Passing is MUCH more difficult to stop than running is. You scheme to get the ball to your playmakers in space. That's what Eli will do and we're gonna be hard to stop.

I never knew him but pretty much everyone I know that had interactions with him said he was a d-bag. I know the offense improved once he started calling plays here, wasn’t great at Boise and then was pretty good at N.C. State.

On paper looks like a great hire, checks off most, if not all the boxes, looks like he really knows how to run an offense, question is, does he know anything about running a defense, and can he find a good defensive coordinator to handle that side of the ball.

Looks like a very positive hire to me and one which should open the offense up a little. Now it will be interesting to see who he hired to be the DC and if they stick to the 3-4. Maybe Woody will be looking for a job soon with the change at GaTech……….

We all would love Woody back, and I hope they atleast talk to him, just don’t have much hope he wants to come back.

He does air it out more, but a lot of passes go to the running backs. See Jalen Samuels and Nyheim Hines who are both in the NFL now.

Congrats App! I think it is a great hire. Arkansas State people have always kept up with Coach Drink and I think he'll be a good one. He did wonders for us after taking over playcalling from Coach Harsin.

That's the million dollar question. DC is the most important hire he will make.

I am beginning to think Tim Horton is never going to get a head coaching gig. Maybe the pigs will hire him.
