Hot Stove - White Sox
Really interesting to hear White Sox are actually real competitors for Machado and Harper. Anyone think Sox have a chance at either? I know the Phillies are reportedly ready to pay any price so it might be tough.

I root for the Cubs and don't think I would want either of them on the Cubs. The amount of money is just not worth it and they both seem to be great players that are very into themselves. They might be a better fit for the Sox since they have so many young players that are learning to play, and hopefully win, together. I am not sure if they're the right kind of leader and mentor for young players though. How many championships have they been on?

Normally I agree to not overspend, but I think the Harper thing would make perfect sense. Sox already have a strong championship nucleus to build around with their propsects, this would be something that would put them over the top for years to come. Hard no on Machado, but Harper...... Im in. I think he will go to LA though

I'd be surprised if he ended up there. Harper landing on the South Side would be a quick way for everyone to forget about him.

Rarely does it happen where sox general management talks about getting a player and then it happens. It is those under the radar things that usually happen. Sox season ticket base would get a massive surge with that signing though, and I know I've read they are interested too with a new TV deal looming. Seems like it would be a perfect fit to me, I just worry about giving a guy that much money who may not be the best in the clubhouse.

White Sox trade for Yonder Alonso, who just happens to be Manny Machado's brother in law. Coincidence?
