Wilkie... Update Friday 12/28
Wilkie’s Daughter posted some updates the last couple of days. Please continue to pray for our friend....

12/26/18 UPDATE

Dad was more awake and aware of things today! He was following a few small and simple commands. Tomorrow they are doing the surgery @11:00 am to put in his abdominal tube line for feedings. We are moving in the right direction. By the end of the week to the first of next week he will be moving to a rehab facility. They are currently talking rehab at Frazier. Our only fear is that if something were to happen he would be admitted to Jewish Hospital and not back to Baptist East. To be admitted back to Baptist East he would need to go to another rehab facility. Please pray for us that we make the right decision and that he continues on the right path with his recovery.

12/27/18 UPDATE

Well that was fast. They are finished, peg line in and now we are waiting for to come to recovery.

Please keep praying for our friend.....

Wilkie has had some health issues. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

His daughter posted this on Facebook this afternoon:

Okay as many of you know the Wilkerson clan has had a stressful 2 weeks. Last week my Dad’s brother had a quadruple bypass and last night my Dad emergency brain surgery. Mom came home from work and thought Dad had a stroke. Come to find out that he had bleeding on both sides of the brain. The surgery was to release pressure and drain from the left side. Surgery went well. He is still sedated in ICU. This will be home for awhile. We do expect more surgeries. Just don’t know when. Waiting on pathology report. Stroke was ruled out. We have been told we will be on a roller coaster ride for awhile. Please keep my family and my uncle’s family in you prayers. I will keep everyone updated as we know things.

Awful news. He's in our prayers. Thanks for relaying this, Jim.

RE: Wilkie... Update Friday morning 12/14
Wilkie’s daughter posted this on Facebook yesterday afternoon:

UPDATE

NO SURGERY tomorrow. Pathology came back and they are 80% positive that it is banyan. They are sending it off for a 2nd opinion to be 100% positive. Which now means it truly was a stroke. He will have a long road head of him with recovery and rehab. He is still on a ventilator but breathing above it. Please continue pray, as my family and many of you know it does work. God is good! That Kanye to those who have reached out. I will keep everyone updated as we learn more.

Please continue to pray for our friend.

RE: Wilkie... Update Sunday evening 12/16
Wilkie’s daughter posted this on Facebook late last night:

UPDATE 12/16/18

Dad has been off his sedation medication since 7:15 this morning. He is currently breathing mostly on his own over the ventilator. He had his eyes open off and on today as there is still sedation medication still working it’s way out of his system. Tomorrow they expect to take him off the ventilator. Please continue to pray as we get these baby steps. My brother flys home tomorrow afternoon. Please pray for safe travels for him.

Please continue to pray for our friend

RE: Wilkie... Update Thursday 12/20
Wilkie's Daughter posted this an hour ago on Facebook:

12/20/18 UPDATE
SURGERY HAS BEEN CANCELED
I will update again later, but as of this morning Dad has been breathing on his own. At 5:30 this morning he decided to use his good arm and take out his ventilator. He is on 2% oxygen with a nose cannula. He still has an NG tube for nutrition, blood sugar levels still look good, BPs and temps are still good. Not positive that they will cancel surgery, but waiting on the doctor before we know for sure! We need him to start coughing to get mucus and stuff out on his own or they will do surgery. Please continue to pray that we can accomplish this today.

Please keep praying for our friend.....
