My biggest "upset" picks :

* UCF (+8 point spread, 39 % fan pick) over LSU: I think the Knights continue to prove they belong with the big boys by winning this one. The victory further stresses the need to expand the playoff to 6 teams, with 1 spot devoted to the top non-P5 squad in any given season.

* Northwestern (+7.5, 40 %) over Utah: The Big 10 has been underrated in terms of overall strength, and I think the Wildcats are that program ready to take the next big step.

* Houston (+5, 33 %) over Army: With a lot of time to prepare for the Option, I think Houston wins this one with their offense and just enough stops.

The great news is I am still in first. I also have not gotten any incorrect. That is all.

I suppose one could make the case that if Houston has plenty of time to prepare for Army's option offense, the same could be true of Minnesota going up against GT.

Difference is, this will be GT's final game under their current coach, who is stepping down after 11 years. Have to think they'll be extra motivated to send him off with a W in his final game. Plus, Minnesota is pretty meh.

I always make my picks an hour before the first kick off after eating too many plates of scrambled eggs (notice I didn't include bacon there because one can't eat TOO MUCH bacon).

Strategy has been moderately successful when taking a look at historical trends. Might throw in a little more hot sauce on the eggs this year to really spice things up in the picks.
