Found my answer: Indiana HC has ties to Arkansas and Mississippi and one assistant corch is Kane Wommack, son of ex USM and OP defensive Coordinator Dave Wommack.

The "internets" are a wonderful thing..03-lmfao

Not to mention they basically don't even attempt to evaluate linemen outside the Top 20 in the country. They'll just blindly slap a 3 or 2 star rating on them and call it a day. That impacts classes that are heavy on D and O linemen such as UCF's class this year.

Also, JUCO guys (IMO) rarely live up to ANY rating they're given. I much prefer HS kids.

^THIS! So much this!

The best past recruiting classes this year were UAB’s, because they did the only thing that matters.
The best past recruiting classes last year were FAU’s, because they did the only thing that matters.
The best past recruiting classes two years ago were WKU’s, because they did the only thing that matters...

Rivals rankings matters for conferences like sun belt mac cusa. If a school gets a 4 star QB & it translates on the field that's a game changer or all your recruits are 3 stars and they translate on field that makes a major difference. You can even ask P5 coaches and they talk about where they stand in recruiting. If they have 4 stars or 5 stars just like if a team in G5 has they best recruiting class , that's huge.

Here's how the sites all work. The creators of Rivals who sold it to yahoo, created 247.

Doesn’t mean squat unless you put trophies on the shelf and rings on fingers. We should know. Ugh!
