Missed free throws and savings timeouts is Cal's new legacy

It took them this long to realize that X is only a so so bench coach and has only won due to superior talent.

That is like us saying the Hernando Desoto is the "NEW" bridge. That has been his legacy for decades.

It is absurd. When Cal was at Memphis, every fan base, including ours, called Cal a sleazy salesman. Maybe he's not sleazy, but he's quite the salesman. He's got tons of pumpers believing there's some magic formula that will turn things around come March. There's not.

What I love is how the homers truly believe Cal is as clean as they come. The constant remarks about how they can't compete with Duke because they refuse to pay players or do anything unethical is mind blowing to me.

The only thing that has changed is Coach K has entered the fray. So now Nike can say, you can get the Nike package if you go to Duke, or you can get the Nike package if you go to UK. And just about anyone with a brain is choosing K over Cal.

I cant believe it took so many that long to see this coming. I mean I tried to remain positive and really threw my back into this team, but I've known since 2015 his ego wasnt going to allow him to get it right.

RE: BBN dumping on Cal after Seton Hall loss
I think Calipari does know BB fundamentals and was a good, hard-working coach at UMass and for most of his years at Memphis. However, after getting a good bit older and stashing away 10’s of millions of $ in the bank, he’s lost his coaching fire and drive and has come to rely on superior talent to win. Now that Duke and others are getting better talent, he just does not have it in him to go back to the hard-driving coaching style that made him a rising star in his younger years. Combining that with the lofty expectations and intense fan scrutiny at UK, my guess is he’s just worn out.

That may be closer than they think. Their board is full of absurd expectations.

I don't actually consider it absurd. It is KY and their expectations are crystal clear. They want championships, not final fours, not elite eights, not 48 first round draft picks. Cal has had 1 championship and is getting paid 8mil a year. No doubt they were bamboozled by Cal's salesmanship and he dug his own hole with all the "we eat first" and "we get whomever we want" kind of talk when the going was good. Now he is trying to back up and tell them other schools (like Duke) are as good and they can't win them all, etc.

It's hilarious, but some of those fools are actually starting to mention those two in the same sentences.

end of story.

I have read on their board that if Penny is successful, he would crawl over broken glass all the way to Lexington for the Kentucky job.
