**EDIT - With Army's 3rd win in a row in the series, Navy's lead all-time narrows to 56-52-7. These two teams first played, wait for it......in 1891!

60 wins for Navy. 60-52-7
First game in 1890

Took my numbers from this web site:

College Football Sports Reference: Army/Navy Head-to-Head

Here's Navy's pre game press release:

And navysports.com also put out the AP story which has the "119th meeting" and the 60-52-7

Not disputing your numbers. Interesting that there's a slight discrepancy. It's all good.

Such discrepancies exist in many series that stated in the 1890's. There's one disputed in the Auburn / Georgia series which started in 1892. Back then many teams were just organizing clubs to play. Some parties will call an early game a scrimmage that the two coaches agreed to organize to try to develop their players, and others will claim that it was an official game. Things like that shouldn't be groused about but rather cherished as part of the rivalry. All kinds of weird things happen in that regard.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to start a dispute either. Didn't / don't have time to look through 119 matchups to find the specific differences.

RE: Army - Navy Game
An old high school classmate of mine is a West Point graduate who served 20+ years as an officer, and on Facebook he had been posting jokes about Navy all week leading up to the game. And as I've said before, I grew up about 15 miles from the Naval Academy so have many old friends who are Navy men.

Within minutes of the game ending, the Army guy posted a joke about Army that had been circulating in Navy circles, it went along the lines of "why doesn't Army football have a web site? Because they can't string three Ws in a row!".

He then announced that the website was now already up and live, LOL. I got a kick out of the fact that there must have been a few Army guys who had been working on that site all week and were sitting at a computer poised to launch it "live" the instant Army won this game - if they did win, LOL.

Point is, I have friends with both Army and Navy backgrounds and love the rivalry banter between them leading up to the game. It's always fun no matter who wins.

Though as I don't have a military background, I don't participate. Along that line, my Army friend made a Facebook post as well: It showed two scenes from Goodfellas. In one, the Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta characters have huge smiles on their faces and are cackling hilariously at something. The caption under it read "how members of any service act when members of other services talk **** about them". The next scene was also from Goodfellas, but showed the main cast members with stony, if looks could kill visages. It was captioned "how members of any service act when civilians talk **** about any of the services".

Yes, the review was ridonculously long, despite the fact that anyone could see within the first 5 seconds of watching that it was inconclusive as to whether he got the first down or not, so the call on field should have stood.

Like you, I was glad it didn't cost them the game.

The rule should be this:
If they can't find indisputable video evidence overturning the call on the field within 60 seconds, then the call on the field stands. Move on, already.

If you want to know why millennials aren't attending games, a huge part of it is the replay reviews that suck all the excitement out of the stadium.

Agreed. That would seem to be the very definition of "inconclusive". I'm hoping that this delay, viewed by millions nationwide, will lead to a rule along the lines of what you are suggesting.

Army has put together three good years in a row.

8-5

10-3

10-2

Last five years for Army, since Jeff Monken took over:
4-8
2-10
8-5 (won bowl)
10-3 (won bowl)
10-2 (bowl pending)

Navy:
8-5 (won bowl)
11-2 (won bowl)
9-5 (lost bowl, won AAC East)
7-6 (won bowl)
3-10

Pretty clear correlation between West Point's rise and the fall of Annapolis during Monken, though fans may have other explanations (e.g. coaching staff changes, facilities improvements). Crazy to think that just over three seasons ago, Navy was 9-2 and people were talking about them getting in over WMU for the Cotton Bowl had they beaten Temple and Army.
