When Dickens came out of the game the first time, he went and sat near the end of the bench. JJ walked down, got in his face, and made him move back up toward the coaches.

Could catch the ball. Couldn't rebound. Throwing the ball away. Wouldn't get down after loose balls (Dickens), getting ball ripped from hands (Robertson), wouldn't defend, (Carver did) and didn't score.Totally outplayed by #13, who looked pretty good to me. Other then that, they reminded me of Wilt Chamberlain.

Yea that's what it looked like.

I'm in section 103 -- about as far from the home bench as one can get. So I don't have any particular insights.

What I saw on the court from Robinson looked like pure clumsiness to me, and some frustration at being outplayed by Fairfield's giant (Kasabubi, of something close to that). Robinson, I suppose to his credit, looked to me to be upset with himself.

Dickens, on the other hand, when he was on the court looked like his head was in outer space. I hope it was a one-off event for him. We will need him to keep improving this season.

I got worried with the dancing during pregame warmups. Looked way to causal, nonchalant, too comfortable. I’m all for having fun, but need to treat this like a job.......just my opinion

RE: Fairfield
They need to be concerned with getting a bunch of shots in pregame warmups. It takes some to find it. We too often spend much of the first half warming up and spend too much of our warmup coming in late and doing layup drills. I got slammed for pointing this out last year, but we often start our games ice cold and looking for our touch.

They simply are not that good! They get pushed around and are not aggressive at all. I like Ezikpe better than the two 7 footers. At least he is aggressive and can shoot FT's!!

Seems like we start every game very slowly. That is very typical of a JJ coached team. I would like to see the staring line-up changed to:
Caver, Stith, Ezikpe, Godwin & Green.

All I can add to this is -- Amen, Brother -- with a dash of Wade thrown in as needed

Small qualification, which was mentioned by someone else above: Ezikpe is foul-prone. He may still need to come off the bench until the refs get the establish-who's-in-charge whistles out of their system.

I could hear Jones from section 112. He was giving both bigs an earful on effort and giving a s**t. Neither seemed to react with much care either way. Hey, now we know why they were both available. They both suck and are soft. Pretty simple.

I thought Robinson was going to walk right past the bench to the locker room after he got yanked for having the ball snatched away from him. He walked past the players and gave 0 hi-fives as they reached their hands out to him. Then he turned back and went to the empty seat, swatted at it and yelled out "F*#K!!!!"

Come on, is that necessary? One of them has been riddled with injuries and a shell of what he was. The other is raw and probably hasn't played defense aside from swatting balls into the 10th row in his entire life. As far as we know, they are both trying to get better. They came here for opportunity and it isn't their fault that there isn't a single big guy on the team that can produce offensively. Also can't take behavior while getting yelled at in the heat of a competition while being disappointed in yourself with anything but a grain of salt. He didn't push anyone or curse at the ref like the last guy.

Yeah, I took it as frustration at himself and that he seemingly couldn't do anything to please JJ.

Let's hope they both keep working hard

Jeez, how did you want them to react? Pout? Cry? Get in Jeff's face? Sometimes you just gotta take criticism on the chin, go out and do better next time.

I would like to see a little more energy/emotion on the court. When someone pushes you push them back! At 7' tall neither one intimidates anybody on the court! We need a Shaq out there not a Smurf!

RE: Fairfield
But I heard they were as good as stith and porter from some VERY knowledgeable fans on this board who are NEVER wrong.

You know, just like sam harris would be all CAA.

This is why I wait to see them play first, every single damn time.

A nothing burger at home from our entire front court in year 6 against Fairfield.

PROMISING.

Ncaa here we come!
