Basketball Games 12.7-12.9
Not trying to steal odu09's thunder. He has done a great job all season of getting these threads going for us.
Slow night tonight for CUSA.

A slow night seems like a good night to check on Rankings. The RPI is much kinder to us then the NET is. Hopefully UNT can keep this up. So hard to tell with the schedule we have played.

Well done, Bulldogs. That looked like a nail-biter throughout.

An interesting facet of NET is that overtime victories only count as having a margin of victory of 1 point. So NET sees it as a 1 point win on the road.

It was a win! 1 point? 3 points? Who cares? Two of SFA's guys were frickin' unreal last night. That Bogues kid was on fire from behind the arc. And we DID play good defense on him. He was hitting fall-aways from 23 feet! Once again we sucked at the FT line, shot only 59% as a team. It's amazing we won given all of that, and against a very good team on the road too.
I wish I could say Tech was good in hoops...but we are "mediocre" at best. So, any "W" is a good "W."

I wasn’t trying to minimize y’all’s win. I’m always happy when a conference mate gets a win on the road. Especially over a non-UNT Texas team. I was just trying to point out how NET this year is different than RPI that was used before. :)

I understand that, and I didn't think you were minimizing the win. My point is....how the heck did we win last night!??? Powell missed 5 chippy shots. That's 10 points we should have had. We couldn't hit FTs, in some cases, couldn't throw it in the ocean if we were in a boat, and they were draining 3's after doing acrobats to get the shot off.

We missed FT's late in regulation last night that prevented the game from going into OT. SFA had a guard and a big guy that were really good

RE: Basketball Games 12.7-12.9
Saturday and Sunday games below. I threw in a couple of the opponent records as those would be quite beneficial in ratings. 8 total games (1 is non D1 so 7 that count towards ratings) so it’d be a nice reward to get at least 4 wins. If CUSA is to have a chance at 2 bids though we’re gonna need to revert back to our week 1 form by winnng 5 or 6 of these 8.
Saturday 12/8
UAB at Memphis——espn3 at noon cst
Marshall host Toledo (8-1)
WKU at Arkansas——sec network at 2:30 pm cst
UTSA host non D1
UNT host Texas Arlington
MTSU host Murray St (4-1)——espn+ at 7 pm
Sunday 12/9
ODU host Fairfield
Charlotte host South Florida (6-2)

Ha. Ha. Probably? I would call that a guarantee. MT is certifiably terrible. May or may not win another game this year. And you should really call us 1-7. We shouldn't take credit for games that moved from exhibitions to the actual schedule.
So, this version of MT basketball is about to make history and do something no Raider hoops team has ever done before. No team in MT history has ever had 10 losses before January.
The 2018 version says hold my beer.

They outshot you and outrebounded you. You won the game based on two stats. Free throws... you hit more free throws than they shot. And turnovers. La Tech forced 21 turnovers and only committed 11 of their own. You won on steals 8 to 1 as well. That's your ballgame.

I do not get it. MARSHALL at home down 41-23 to Toledo at half. Toledo is pretty good this year--but still...

Total crap ball. I refuse to watch another min of this crap this year. So I miss Elmore break a few more records, it won't matter. Seriously they will be lucky to win 5 games in conference play.
