NT completes the comeback against UTA after being down 14ish points in the 2nd half. UTA pretty much fell apart in the last minutes and the crowd finally got into it. Shouldnt have been that hard but UTA always plays well against us.

Thanks guys. UT-A always gives us fits. Glad we had them at home. 10-1 looks good right now. Next up... New Mexico on the 18th.

I looked for information on its freshman class and found out that his name was Tim. I'm genuinely curious how UTSA found the second-best college program in a town (Elizabeth City, N.C.) that almost nobody outside of Eastern Carolina and Tidewater could place on a map. No hate here, it just seems so random.

Today the 'Runners played Mid-AMERICA Christian University, an NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference team from Oklahoma City.

It's a senior-laden team -- 11 of 15 Evangels on the roster are seniors. Twelve of the 15 are transfers, including Will Gibbons from FAU. Only two sophomores and one senior have played for only MACU after high school. With today's loss, its record dropped to 6-4.

Last year, MACU basketball finished T5 in the SAC (11-9 in conference, 21-14 overall).

FYI ... MACU was established originally as South Texas Bible Institute in Houston in 1953. It changed its name to Gulf-Coast Bible College in 1955 and established a relationship with the Church of God in 1968. Needing room to expand, it moved to Oklahoma City, dedicating its new campus in 1985 and renaming itself Mid-America Bible College. The college was renamed Mid-America Christian University in 2002. It claims enrollment of more than 2,800 students.

FTR, the other (Elizabeth City, N.C.) MACU ... formerly Roanoke Bible College ... competes in the 81-member US Collegiate Athletic Association (formerly the National Little College Athletic Association and the National Small College Athletic Association). So far this year, its record is 1-6.)

Ah, you are correct. I read it too quickly and with the two similar names (plus the other MACU has played D1 teams this season), I jumped to an improper conclusion. As a copy editor, I preach that nobody's above being edited. That, obviously, includes the copy editors.

Then yes, a more-established MACU in Texas makes a lot more sense as an opponent for UTSA than 217-enrollment MACU in northeastern North Carolina, which seems like it'd have been picked from a bingo-ball popper.

.
It is currently 54 to 27 the Mules ahead. Not much love in BG for either but need CUSA ooc wins over what are normally quality opponents. Something WKU has been up and down with.

I’m not sure but if you’re coach is Ellis Johnson or related to him there’s a good chance

So clearly our guys get up for big name opponents and playing in front of hostile crowds.....Still going to be rough if we cannot get up for lesser teams playing in mostly empty arenas, our guys are going to have to figure that part out....HOwever I will take the win today, I am sure its always a shock for SEC WALMART fans when they lose at home to what they perceive as a lesser opponent....We now have beaten a team from every P5 conference since Thanksgiving last year, not bad...Even better day UK and UofL went down!

Since two of you ODU fellas have taken a shot at us for playing Mid-America Christian, a school I had never heard of before either btw, I just wanted to say that our strength of schedule right now is #45 and yours is #243. Yes, we've played a couple of lightweights, but most of our opponents have been pretty legit, apparently far more so than yours.

Yeah because you’ve played two teams so bad that they’re not even included in the rankings. And lost to one of them.

Yeah because you’ve played two teams so bad that they’re not even included in the rankings. And lost to one of them.

And yet our schedule strength is still nearly 200 spots higher than yours. What does that tell you about your opposition?

Look, we definitely should've beaten St. Edwards. They're not in the rankings because they're DII, but they're a well-coached and fairly talented DII team (9-1) who could probably actually beat a number of DI programs.

We probably should've also beaten Florida Gulf Coast, even though their worst season in the last 6 years was 21-14 (including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2013), because they seem to be struggling this year.

Those are the only two games we lost that I felt we should've won so far though. We've played at least half our schedule to this point without our leading scorer from last season who was still working his way back from the ACL suffered late last season. And before today, in the few games he did play, the coaches limited him to 15 minutes. Today's game was the first game he started for us and played more than 15 minutes.

If you wanna fault us for losing games we should've won, I take no issue. But if you're gonna cherry-pick a couple of teams we played in our schedule that no one has heard of when our overall schedule strength is 200 spots higher than yours, you're out of line.

Keep in mind the non d1 games dont factor into your strength of schedule. Now if they did, it probably wouldn't make up a 200 spot difference but your argument is flawed nonetheless.
